Dure Guksu

A number of A-list Hallyu stars, including Kim Tae-hee, Park Bo-gum and Park Han-byeol are frequent diners at Dure Guksu. Having been featured in numerous Korean TV shows, the most popular dishes on the menu include the signature beef noodle soup, bibim guksu (spicy cold noodles) and bibimbap (mixed rice bowl). During dinner service, gopchang jeongol (beef tripe stew) is often paired with soju (distilled rice liquor). Rice stir-fried with vegetables in the same pot makes for the perfect finale for a laid-back dining experience. Please note that there is usually a long wait during lunch and dinner hours.

Jonggak Underground Shopping Center

Jonggak Underground Shopping Center is located in Jongno, one of the major central areas of Seoul. Union Star Bowling Alley

A quick walk from exit 4 of Seongsu Station, visitors in Seongsu-dong will be able to find Union Star Bowling Club. Located on the basement of a red-brick building, the venue is often visited by a number of Hallyu stars including Kim Soo-hyun (who was recently on Infinity Challenge to test his bowling skills), G-Dragon and the members of former girl-group 2NE1. Bowling pins signed by the Hallyu stars are proudly displayed throughout the venue. A unique aspect of Union Star Bowling Club is that it is divided into two floors. The first basement floor is Rock Bowling Alley featuring ten lanes. Dimly lit with pink and blue florescent lights, it functions as a bowling-pub serving a wide selection of domestic and imported beer. Club music gets the energy going while darts and video games are available for those waiting for their turn. The second basement floor is General Bowling Alley offering twelve lanes. Opening from 11am, the whole floor is brightly lit and modestly decorated. Visitors to the Union Star Bowling Club should ask about the Red Pin Game event: anyone who scores a strike when a red pin appears as the head pin will receive a free bottle of beer.

Seoullo 7017

In the 1970s, an elevated road was built to connect the eastern and western sides around Seoul Station. However, the road was closed to road traffic due to safety issues. After this, rather than tearing down the existing structure, the road was transformed into Seoullo 7017, a new pedestrian walking experience. Seoullo 7017 gets its name from its years of new life, from being a traffic road in the 70s to a sky garden in 2017. The "17" also has a deeper meaning, with Seoullo 7017 being divided into 17 unique sections, and the road being located 17 meters above the ground. There are a variety of facilities along Seoullo 7017, including an information center, cafes, gardens, and stages. Seoullo 7017 itself is open all day, every day for visitors to enjoy at their leisure. CARNABY ST

This cafe is largely influenced by the overall feeling/vibe of the major/representative of the main fashion street in London, Carnaby Street. With Carnaby Street as the main influence, they put as much of Carnaby Street into one cafe as they could! Inside the cafe, there is a bike displayed, which represents freedom, and there is also a leather jacket, a safety helmet, a rider, and the cafe is decorated with many more decorations, which adds to the entertainment value of the cafe. During the day, it operates as a cafe, but, in the evening, it changes to a pub with a mirror disco ball; so, the atmosphere turns/changes 180 degrees. This cafe was used as a film location for the Korean drama, The K2, where the actor Ji Jang Choog carefully pours coffee for Yoona from SNSD, the Korean girl group. It is also known that the star, Ji Jang Choog, frequently visits Carnaby Street.

S&Penguins cafe

S&Penguins cafe is a cafe operated and owned by Kim So Hye, who debuted from a project girl group I.O.I. The cafe also serves as a space for, “Penguin People,” which are what fans of Kim So Hye are called. Photos/Professional shoots of Kim So Hye are displayed in different sizes. Also, there is a penguin that has been made into character dolls, and clothes that are being sold. Varieties of coffee beverages are sold (roughly 3,000 won to 5,000 won), which is quite inexpensive.

Magnolia Design Café

SHINee’s last international tour ended in June, 2017, after their concerts in Los Angeles, Dallas and Taipei were completely sold out. Magnolia Design Café located in Itaewon by Yongsan-gu Office is known to be one of Key’s favorite cafés in Seoul. He has shared pictures of himself enjoying drinks at the coffee shop via his personal social media account. Magnolia Design Café is housed in a refurbished family-home offering a cozy atmosphere in the midst of the bustling Itaewon area. The exact spot where Key took photographs can be found at the quaint backyard. The most popular menu items during warmer seasons include the blueberry smoothie and iced latte.
