The noodles from this place are famous because they were served by representatives from North Korea at the time of the South-North Red Cross Conference. For 50 years, this restaurant has succeeded in carrying on the tradition of Pyeongyang noodles. Hwanghakjeong Pavilion

Hwanghakjeong Pavilion was built in 1898 by decree of King Gojong’s. It was originally set up close to the northern wall of Hoesangjeon in Gyeonghuigung Palace for archery practice. In 1922 when the Japanese colonial government sold buildings of Gyeonghuigung Palace to the public to build Gyeongseong Middle School in the location, the Hwanghakjeong Pavilion was bought and restored at the current location, which is an old site of Deunggwajeong Pavilion located to the North of Sajik Park. It is relatively large for a pavilion, but the structure is plain and simple. There is a well behind the pavilion to the southwest. A rock behind the well has an engraved poem about eight beautiful scenes of Hwanghakjeong. Located to the right of the pavilion building (northeast of the building) is Hancheongak Pavilion, which has unique roof. To the west of the pavilion is Sauhoegwan Hall that was built with reinforced concrete.

Bukhansan National Park (Seoul)

Bukhansan Mountain was officially designated as a national park in 1983. The Bukhansan National Park covers both Bukhansan and Dobongsan Mountains, and spans the total area of 80.699㎢. At the top of Bukhansan Mountain are Baegundae Terrace (836.5m), Insubong Peak (810.5m) and Mangyeongdae Terrace (799.5m), which gave the mountain the nickname "Samgaksan" or the "three-horned mountain". The mountain had other names: Sambongsan (mountain with three peaks), Hwasan (flower mountain), and Buaak (mountain shaped like a person giving a baby a piggyback ride). The current name, Bukhansan, was given as the Bukhansanseong Fortress was built under King Sukjong of Joseon Dynasty.

Lotte World Tower Fireworks Festival

Lotte World Tower will be holding Lotte World Tower Firework Festival on April 2, 2017 from 19:30 to 12:30. The celebration begins with opening ceremony performed by DJ DOC, Hong, Jin-young, a cappella group D.I.A, Songpa Philharmonic Orchestra and Songpa Boys and Girls Choir at a special performance stage. Spectacular fireworks display of 30,000 fireworks will embroider the night sky for 11 minutes starting from 21:00. Lotte World Tower will mesmerize visitors with fireworks that light up the night sky in accordance to eight different background music of diverse genre such as jazz and pop, along with the fascinating musical fireworks display at Seokchonhosu Lake. Hyundai Kalguksu

Hyundai Kalguksu is a kalguksu (handmade knife-cut noodles) restaurant that has been in the family for two generations (1982). The restaurant is extremely popular among people working at nearby businesses, thanks to the rich flavor of the broth. Anchovies, dried pollack heads, and kelp are simmered for many hours, and then, other ingredients are added: soft noodles and various vegetables including pumpkin, onion, and green onions. The restaurant is famous for the exquisite taste of its kalguksu, as well as for its large servings. Just one bowl is enough to satisfy a starving man, but if you are still hungry, don’t hesitate to ask for more rice or noodles for free. Another unforgettable specialty here is kimchi. You will also be able to enjoy geotjeori (freshly made kimchi) and kkakdugi (sliced white-radish kimchi), which is fermented for about three days. TIP: If you like spicy food, don’t forget to add some cheongyanggochu (spicy red pepper)!
