Seoul Kimchi Making & Sharing Festival is held in the area of Gwanghwamun Square. Registered as one of UNESCO’s Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity, Gimjang (preparing kimchi for the winter) has drawn a lot of attention from all over the world. However, the culture of gimjang is slowly disappearing, as Korean culture becomes more globalized. Seoul goverment has planned this festival to revitalize the culture of gimjang, preparing almost 20 programs divided into the 5 sections of sharing, exhibition, hands-on programs, market place and food, and culture for visitors to enjoy the festival to the fullest. 


Seoul(Seocho-gu) , Apgujeong・Cheongdamdong

Seolnun is a Korean restaurant specialized in Pyeongyang Naengmyeon dishes. A restaurant operated by a North Korean chef, Seolnun is a great place for visitors to try out and enjoy North Korean food. Also known for their delicious dumplings, nokdujeon (mung bean pancakes), and suyuk (boiled pork slices), Seolnun was featured on various TV programs.

Seoul 365 Fashion Show is a project presented by Seoul Metropolitan Government and the community. Streets of Seoul transform into runways and people of Seoul gather as models to showcase a variety of stylish outfits. Seoul 365 Fashion Show aims to close the gap between fashion and the general public by encouraging the community to actively participate and enjoy this multi-cultural fashion project. The fashion show also contributes in creating job opportunities by supporting over 100 youths who dream to become a model. Candidates selected to model for Seoul 365 Fashion Show receive professional model training and will be able to explore diverse career opportunities.

Jamsil Special Tourist Zone has Lotte World Amusement Park, the landmark of Jamsil, at its center. As Jamsil Special Tourist Zone functions as a resting area in the heart of the city, visitors can play, go shopping and participate in historical inquiries all within a comfortable distance of each other. The zone has a lot of entertainment and places to see and eat for international visitors of all ages with its diverse tourism resources, such as Seokchon Lake, Café Alley, Bangi Food Street, Olympic Park and Hanseong Baekje cultural relics. Seokchon Lake is great for a stroll in a tranquil ambience, and Bangi Food Street has restaurants serving a variety of appetizing dishes. Inside and around Lotte World Amusement Park are attractions and amenities that include Lotte Hotel World, Lotte World Indoor Ice Skating Rink and Food Court. The items sold at the shopping mall are affordable, attracting a crowd of young people. Olympic Park is frequently used as a venue by Hallyu (Korean wave) stars for shows and performances. There is a swimming pool inside the park where sports activities take place, like a scuba diving program for beginners. The festival offers chances to meet Korean Hallyu stars including SHINEE, INFINITE, 2PM, Wonder Girls and other popular K-POP stars. This performance will be broadcasted live on KBS 2TV, as well as to 20 countries through the KBS World channel.

The Casa Steak steak house recently opened in Myeong-dong at the former location of its parent company, Nolita, the pasta and pizza specialty restaurant brand. At Casa Steak, detailed research and preperation went into their process of making the perfect dry aged steak for their customers. The restaurant also serves a variety of steaks as well as salads, pasta and other dishes.
