Tium Hangeul Museum
Gyeonggi-do(Paju-si) , Paju(Heyri Art valley)

The ‘Tium Hangeul Museum’, located in Paju’s Heyri Art Valley (where every structure is a work of art) is the first cultural space dedicated to the Hangeul language. The complex is designed entirely to promote the value of Hangeul to children and young guests. The building houses the Hangeul Experience Center, Studio, and Cultural Space which provide unique facts and information on Hangeul as well as hands-on experiences. At Ggomjirak/Jomulrak Studio, visitors can enjoy the beauty of Hangeul by participating in many of the hands-on cultural experiences. These include making Hangeul glass arts & crafts, designing their own Hangeul t-shirts and enjoying an old-fashioned typewriter on display. Also within the building is the Udangtang Hangeul Factory where kids can learn the history behind the creation of Hangeul while enjoying a variety of animated programs and other fun features. Snacks, seasonal beverages and a range of Hangeul-related products are also available inside the cultural space.

Museum of Musical Instruments of the World

Museum of Musical Instruments of the World is the first Korean museum that collects musical instruments from all over the world. At present, it houses about 500 musical instruments from about 70 countries including African percussions (made with rocks, trees, animal’s bone such as balafon, jembe, didgeridoo, angklung, and others), musical instruments from the Middle East, Islamic northeast Asia, and an island country in the Pacific Ocean. Visitors can attempt to play the instrument in person at the designated hands-on activity area, and try on traditional costume, as well as, other entertainment activity like pungmul (traditional Korean percussions). Visitors who don’t get enough by just playing and touching the instrument can also take part in the folk music lectures to learn more about their favorite musical instrument that features a cultural artistic hands-on activity space. In addition, to provide more knowledge on the regional culture, the museum showcases musical instrument with dolls of respective region's traditional costume, pungmul, and painting.

International Horticulture Goyang Korea
Gyeonggi-do(Goyang-si) , Ilsan

First held in 1997, the Goyang International Flower Exhibition has attracted about over 5.7 million visitors thus far, including the 8th Flower Exhibition in 2014. The event is considered to be Korea’s representative international flower exhibition. This year’s festival will be taken place in Ilsan Lake Park in Goyang city from April to May with 320 related organizations, groups, and companies from 35 countries, to showcase flowers and various products made with flowers. Also, unique and rare plants exhibition, indoor garden decorated with flower art pieces, outdoor theme parks, making of flower plant experience, flower arrangement contests, as well as other cultural events and performances will be planned to add more joy to the flower festival.

Suwon Gwanggyo Museum

Suwon Gwanggyo Museum features a variety of relics that were discovered during the construction of Gywanggyo New Town Project. The exhibitions focus on the history and culture of Gwanggyo based on artifacts along with materials related to Korea’s modern history, Dokdo Island, and Admiral Yi Sun-sin. Suwon Gwanggyo Museum is located in Gywanggyo History Park near the burial site of Sim On and Hyeryeong-gun, providing a great opportunity for visitors to learn about Korea’s history as well as enjoy a relaxing stroll around the park.

Yangji Pine Resort Ski Valley

Yangji Pine Resort is an all-season recreational complex located in the magnificent Dokjosan Mountain in Gyeonggi-do. The Resort offers offers numerous ski runs. The Avec Course is particularly popular with experienced skiers, while the Snow Park Course offers various obstacle courses (for both skiers and snowboarders). Yangji Pine Resort’s top rated run is the Challenger Course, where the yearly ‘National Alpine Ski Competition’ takes place. Many diverse events are held at the Resort involving skiers and snowboarders, such as training courses, snowboarding competitions, and snowboarding shows featuring professional snowboarders. Recently, the main route to the resort, Yeongdong Highway, has been expanded, and the resort’s main facilities and condominiums have all been remodeled as well to better accommodate the guests.

Ieyoung Contemporary Art Museum

Ieyoung Contemporary Art Museum is a personal collection of art that features valuable works centered on humanitarianism. Entering the eco-friendly exhibition space, you will be met by works of contemporary masters, ranging from sculptures to Oriental and Western paintings. In addition to exhibitions, the gallery also holds hands-on art programs for children.The gallery is home to the largest collection of works by Park Sang-Gwang, a patriotic painter. In 2004, to mark the 100th anniversary of Park’s birth, the gallery created a foundation with the dual purpose of studying Park and his works and indentifying undiscovered traditional artists in Korea. Ever since the establishment of the foundation, the gallery had increased in both collection size and quantity year after year.

Changnyongmun Gate

Changnyeongmun Gate, the eastern gate of Hwaseong Fortress, is similar in shape and size to Hwaseomun Gate to the east. The main item of interest on this gate is the nameplate attached to the left of the gate. While the names carved into the polished granite at the other three main gates have become obscure over time, the nameplate at Changnyeongmun Gate is still clearly visable.

Siheung Gaetgol Eco Park

Siheung Gaetgol Eco Park in Gyeonggi-do features the nation's only inland beach along the shores of a river that ebbs and flows with the ocean tide. The park offers the chance to learn about the traditional salt-making techniques, as well as the many unique flora that grow here. The park was designated as a national marine & wetland protected area in February 2012.

Beomnyunsa Temple(Yongin)

Beomnyunsa Temple, located at the foot of the Munsusan Mountain in Yongin, Gyeoggi-do, consists of the Hall of Sakyamoni, the Hall of Paradise, the Hall of Kwan-yin, the Hall of Josa, Samsunggak Shrine, Beomjonggak Shrine, Yosachae, and a place of mediation for Buddhist nuns.The sizable 130-pyeong Hall of Sakyamoni was built in an open form of the Chinese character "亞" ("ah") in a Southern Buddhist style. The hall, made of indigenous red pine tree from Baekdusan Mountain, contains a 53-tonne stone Sakyamoni Statue (three times bigger in size than the Buddhist statue in Seokguram Grotto) and a 33-tonne stone Munsu Bohyeon Buddhist Saint Statue. On the left wall are 104 Sinjungnim (guardians of Buddhist law) as well as a Dongjin Boan Buddhist Saint Statue. There are also 1250 Buddhist saint statues, symbolizing the devotion of Buddhist followers.The temple also holds a three-story stone pagoda from the late Unified Silla Era, and is registered as Cultural Asset No. 145.As of March 2009, the temple also began offering a temple stay program.
