Hyangho Beach
Gangwon-do(Gangneung-si)

Hyangho Beach is located in Jumunjin, Gangneung. It is a beach attraction where the boy band BTS filmed their album photo at a bus stop. Although the bus stop in the photo is not an actual bus stop, the booth remains at the beach as a photo zone. Other photo zones are also scattered around the beach, drawing many visitors who seek to take memorable photos with the open beach in the background.

Jeongseon Auraji Rail Bike

The rail bike in Jeongseon Auraji is a new type of leisure sport that combines biking along a railway and scenic views. Rail bikes are commonly found in the mountainous regions of Europe. The sport makes use of an abandoned railway track that runs from Jeongseon Auraji to Gujeol-ri. The total track is 7.2 kilometers long and is a continuous descent that is easy to ride along clean valley waters and crimson red foliage.There are 2-person (110 kilograms) and 4-person rail bikes (138 kilograms). Despite its large size, a rail bike runs quite smoothly so it is sufficient for one person to pedal a 4-person rail bike at speeds of 10 to 30 kilometers per hour.At the boarding area in Gujeol-ri Station, there is a café named ‘A Grasshopper’s Dream.’ Housed in a train, the café is the shape of a grasshopper. The rail bike starts in Gujeol-ri station and ends in Auraji Station. Ride at a slow speed of 15kph to enjoy the surrounding scenery. Pyeongchang Trout Festival

The Pyeongchang Trout Festival takes place during winter in the town of Jinbu-myeon in Pyeongchang-gun district. Visitors to the festival can enjoy a variety of programs including ice and lure fishing for trout, snow programs, ice programs, folk programs, and more. There will also be traditional folk games including sledding and top spinning, and visitors can try out sports such as riding 4-wheel ATVs, snow rafting, sleigh trains. Any trout caught from ice fishing and lure fishing can be prepared right away at a nearby restaurant.Trout farming first started in Pyeongchang due to its cold, clear waters. Trout offer plenty of nutrition, and their natural taste makes them delicious when eaten raw.

Daegwallyeong Museum
Gangwon-do(Gangneung-si)

The Daegwallyeong Museum is located in Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do Province. It is housed in a building that resembles a dolmen, striking a balance with its surrounding landscape and earning it an Outstanding Architecture Award from the Construction Association of Korea and the Best Award from Gangwon-do Province.The museum has six exhibition halls, including those that are named after the guardian gods that represent the four directions. Cheongnyongbang (Room of the Green Dragon - East) is decorated in blue and displays celadon and traditional ceramics. Baekobang (Room of the White Tiger - West) is in white and exhibits Buddhist art and wooden dolls. Jujakbang (Room of the Red Vermillion - South) is in red and displays a bridal palanquin, folk paintings, and calligraphy. The black Hyeonmubang (Room of the Black Turtle - North) displays bronze relics. Also, there is the Togibang (Earthenware) showing Prehistoric era shacks and earthenware. Uribang exhibits wooden furniture and folk craftwork.The outdoor space offers an exhibit of stone pagodas and statues as well as a thatched cottage and an operating water mill.

Animation Museum

The Animation Museum is the only animation museum in Korea. The exhibition hall on the first floor shows the origin, development and types of animation, techniques and process of making amination, history of the development of animation-related equipment, and the history of Korean animation. On the second floor are Chuncheon Hall, US Hall, Japan Hall, Europe Hall, and Other Regions Hall (Asia and other regions), where visitors can get to know the history of animation throughout the world. In addition, various activity programs await visitors, like watching 3D animation films, experiencing audio effects/dubbing and shooting stop-motion animation.

Donggang River

The Donggang River flows through the Gangwon-do district, and is a tributary to the South Hangang River. The Donggang River spans an area of 60km from Jeongseon to Yeongwol. The Donggang River is a well-preserved river, left untouched due to the strong current of the waters and the rugged geography of the mountains. The Donggang River follows a snaky path splitting the chiseled cliffs surrounding it.
