Gangwon-do(Sokcho-si)

The owner-chef won the Grand Prize in the SIFE Seoul International Culinary Competition 2007 and received a bronze medal for his work at the Gangwon Tour Service Competition. He also has a patent on Eolgari Nangmyeon (Cold Buckwheat Noodles with Eolgari Kimchi).


Gangwon-do(Gangneung-si)

The Pyeongchang Trout Festival takes place during winter in the town of Jinbu-myeon in Pyeongchang-gun district. Visitors to the festival can enjoy a variety of programs including ice and lure fishing for trout, snow programs, ice programs, folk programs, and more. There will also be traditional folk games including sledding and top spinning, and visitors can try out sports such as riding 4-wheel ATVs, snow rafting, sleigh trains. Any trout caught from ice fishing and lure fishing can be prepared right away at a nearby restaurant.Trout farming first started in Pyeongchang due to its cold, clear waters. Trout offer plenty of nutrition, and their natural taste makes them delicious when eaten raw.


Gangwon-do(Gangneung-si)

The Daegwallyeong Museum is located in Gangneung-si, Gangwon-do Province. It is housed in a building that resembles a dolmen, striking a balance with its surrounding landscape and earning it an Outstanding Architecture Award from the Construction Association of Korea and the Best Award from Gangwon-do Province.The museum has six exhibition halls, including those that are named after the guardian gods that represent the four directions. Cheongnyongbang (Room of the Green Dragon - East) is decorated in blue and displays celadon and traditional ceramics. Baekobang (Room of the White Tiger - West) is in white and exhibits Buddhist art and wooden dolls. Jujakbang (Room of the Red Vermillion - South) is in red and displays a bridal palanquin, folk paintings, and calligraphy. The black Hyeonmubang (Room of the Black Turtle - North) displays bronze relics. Also, there is the Togibang (Earthenware) showing Prehistoric era shacks and earthenware. Uribang exhibits wooden furniture and folk craftwork.The outdoor space offers an exhibit of stone pagodas and statues as well as a thatched cottage and an operating water mill. 


Gangwon-do(Yeongwol-gun)

Yongso Falls is a 6-meter high waterfall located in Yeongwol-eup Yeonha-ri. According to legend, the Yongso Falls was the dwelling place of a magical beast, the Imugi, before he transformed into a dragon and flew up into the heavens. Waters cascade from the falls and clear valley streams flow nearby, a refreshing experience for all who venture here. In the summer, the icy cold valley streams flow through verdant, leafy forests and in autumn the entire area is decked in crimson foliage. The striking natural beauty of Yongso Falls ensures that even these days it is a magical place to visit.


Gangwon-do(Samcheok-si)

Janghohang Port is just 25km from downtown Samcheok. The port is famous for its round beach line and white sand shore and is known as the “Naples of Korea.” From the beach, Janghohang Port offers excellent views of unique rock formations in the sea. Being that it is a port town, it is a rich provider of seafood such as abalone, seaweed and sea cucumber. It is also known as an excellent place for recreational fishing.Janghohang Port provides many opportunities for a diverse array of activities. Visitors have the option to hop on a real fishing boat and join the crew for some deep sea fishing, where fresh catches can be filleted on the spot. The port also provides tours of sea farms and the chance to cast off with a cuttlefish angling boat at night in hopes of catching squid.
