The ARC Cultural Center, a major culture center in Korea that harmonizes the elegance of traditional Korean culture and the dynamics of nature The ARC is a cultural complex that shows everything about Korea's river culture with the theme of water, and the building itself is a piece of art that boasts a graceful design in harmony with the river. The center offers abundant useful things for visitors to see. The exhibition areas and an art gallery on the first level of the basement are in perfect harmony with the modern and simple interior design. The Circle Theater, a huge theater on the first and second floor, was designed with the theme of water. Visitors can also enjoy a wonderful view of the surrounding nature at the observation deck on the third floor. In particular, the beautiful nightscape seen from the ARC Cultural Center makes it a landmark of Daegu.


Daegu(Dong-gu)

The Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF) is the only exclusive international musical festival in Korea. It aims at developing musical theater into an industry through which the beauty and joy of the arts can be appreciated by both international citizens and local residents. In pursuit of this dream, DIMF has made every effort to encourage domestically created musicals, nurture the upcoming musical generation, and reach new audiences. DIMF, despite being a relatively new cultural event of Daegu, has firmly established itself as a veritable marketplace where producers and directors can exchange ideas and experience a variety of new and diverse musical interpretations. DIMF is not only a stage for the performing arts, but also continues to develop in its role as a delightfully inspiring means of entertainment and recreation.

The tradition of lantern festivals started during the Silla dynasty and continued to modern times. The Colorful Merrymaking at the Lantern Festival in Daegu began in 1967. The festival aims to continue the history and tradition of the lantern festival.

Welcoming the first full moon of the new year and burning daljip (brushwood) are a few traditional customs for the 15th day of the Lunar New Year that took place in the past in various regions of Korea, including Dalbigol. The festival was renewed in 1997 after being gradually forgotten due to urbanization and industrialization.


Daegu(Seo-gu)

Hwangjanggun specializes in hoe-naengmyeon (cold noodles with additional marinated raw fish), galbi-jjim (braised beef short ribs), and galbi-tang (short ribs soup). Galbi-jjim is served on a charcoal burner and is available in two flavors: mild and spicy. The restaurant has five branches in Daegu.


Daegu(Jung-gu)

Bongsan Cultural Center is a comprehensive culture & arts complex located on Bongsan Culture Street in downtown Daegu. The center serves to satisfy the cultural desire of Daegu citizens and promote their emotional development. It aims to contribute to the development of traditional culture and local art in addition to providing opportunities for healthy recreational activities and lifelong education related to culture and arts. The center has five modern exhibition halls (Exhibition Hall No. 1-4 and Art Space) and two performance halls (Gaon Hall with 442 seats, and Space Raon with 90 seats). As the center is located near Banwoldang Station (Daegu Subway Line 1), it is easily accessible by public transportation.


Daegu(Dong-gu)

With the aim of enriching the lives of Dong-gu district’s inhabitants, Ayang Art Center (former Donggu Arts & Sports Center) is equipped with a wide range of facilities for hosting performances, exhibitions, culture classes, sport events, etc. Available facilities include a grand performance hall (1,165 seats), variable black box theater (200 seats), outdoor performance hall (400 seats), recreation ground, exhibition hall, culture and arts educational facilities, a wedding hall, sports center with a swimming pool, and a fitness center. As of March 1, 2013, the center's name has been changed from Donggu Arts & Sports Center to Ayang Art Center.

Located in Daegu-si Dalseo-gu, the Lotte Department Store Sangin Branch offers the most convenient facilities and subsidiary facilities, including a culture center, sky park, travel agency, hair salon, and more. The Sangin branch presents a one-stop shopping experience for all of its customers along with a variety of cultural events and campaigns for an improved shopping experience. Store hours are from 10:30am to 8:00pm with extended hours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. The store is closed one Monday a month.
