Chungcheongnam-do(Cheonan-si)

Gangwon-do(Goseong-gun)

Located in the northernmost part of Korea, Goseong, Gangwon-do, is a special place from which to view the sunrise on New Year’s Day. It is also known as the starting point for the Geumgangsan Mountain trip to North Korea, so the sunrise festival features a variety of programs that bring together North Koreans living in the South, Goseong residents, and tourists in a ceremony to wish for reunification, a bell-striking ceremony, and the release of wish-balloons into the sky. The Sunrise Festival is held on January 1 on Hwajinpo Beach, a famous film location of the TV drama Autumn in My Heart. Visitors can take part in hands-on programs such as hope-balloon flying and a candle lighting ceremony. Afterwards, there will be a shamanistic ceremony called gut to wish for reunification, followed by music by a military band, a drum combo, and folk performances.


Jeollanam-do(Mokpo-si)

At a length of 150 meter and highest x_height at 70 meters, Dancing Sea Fountain is the biggest sea fountain in the world. With various shows such as music, video, and laser show, visitors can enjoy exciting fountain shows while looking out at the ocean.


Gyeonggi-do(Pocheon-si)

A former quarry transformed into a culture and arts space Oddly shaped rocks and a beautiful lake were once a closed quarry. The transformation was the outcome of Korea's first environment restoration project led by Pocheon-si. As of now, more than 1 million tourists visit this place every year. It's also a popular culture and art complex loved by local residents, with various programs including special exhibitions, as well as weekend and special performances.


Gyeonggi-do(Yongin-si) , Yongin

Located in Giheung-gu of Yongin, Hyojongdang is an elegant traditional Korean house. The house was built by Master Builder Lee Il-gu, who restored Suwon Hwaseong Temporary Palace, and many traditional architects of Korea to have both traditional beauty and modern convenience. There are three rooms in Hyojongdang: Pine Room, Juniper Room and Baerong Tree Room. The ceiling of each room was finished elaborately with wooden pieces, and the delicate scent of pine will refresh you. The room is decorated with traditional furniture such as dresser, chest, medicine cabinet and night table and pictures like the Four Gracious Plants and Flowers & Birds. In addition, there is a tea ceremony set in each room. Opening the bedroom door, you can see the well-tended garden and the platform for crocks of sauces and condiments on one part of the yard. In early February of every year, people can participate in the event to try making traditional bean paste and pepper paste and foreign tourist can experience wearing traditional wedding costume and Korean clothes. Hyojongdang is about 7~8 minutes away from Maseong Toll Gate of Yongin Expressway and near to Everland, Hoam Museum and Samsung Transportation Museum. The place has a good access to major travel destinations in Yongin: 10km from Gyeonggi–do Museum and 12km away from Nan June Paik Art Center.


Jeollanam-do(Yeosu-si)

Yeosu Airport is the gateway to Yeosu city and the eastern part of Jeollanam-do Province. The airport opened in 1972 when Korean Air (KAL) launched a new air route between Seoul and Yeosu, and the route between Yeosu and Jeju was added in 1977. The travel time for the Seoul-Yeosu route is 1 hour and the Jeju-Yeosu route takes 45 minutes. The airport renovated its runway in 2004 and opened a new passenger building in 2005. As Yeosu is the host city of the 2012 World Expo, the city has plans to continue expanding facilities to provide the most convenient service.  


Gyeongsangnam-do(Changwon-si)

From Pungho-dong, follow Haengam-ro for four kilometers and cross the small mountain pass to reach Suchi Village and Suchi Beach. Nestled in the mountains facing the quiet sea, Suchi Village was once a small village with only a few inhabitants. In recent years, the city has grown dramatically and draws a steady stream of visitors who come for the hoe (sliced raw fish), a local specialty served fresh all year round.The town and its main beach boast a variety of amenities including hoe restaurants, accommodations, and parking lots. Happo, the nearest town, also offers plenty to see and do and surrounds visitors with forests and other natural wonders. Happo is famous as the site where Admiral Yi Sun-Shin (1545-1598) achieved many victories against the Japanese navy during the Imjin Waeran War (1592-1598).


Jeollabuk-do(Gunsan-si)

Wolmyeong Park is a popular tourist destination of Gunsan City and connects five mountains in the vicinity. The total size of the park is 2.6 km² and there is a 12km-long walking trail in the park. From the Susi Tower, which resembles a flame and or wind-blown sail, people can see all of Gunsan City, the sea to the south of Gunsan, the mouth of Geumgang River, and the giant Janghang smelting factory. At the foot of Seollimsan Mountain is an old temple named Eunjeoksa, and the Jeil Reservoir is located between Jeombangsan and Seollimsan Mountain. The park also contains an observatory, a sculpture park, and various monuments. The park has well-arranged gardens and 30-year old rattan and cherry trees. Every April, when the park is covered in cherry blossoms and is especially beautiful, a cherry blossom photo contest is held at the park.


Gyeonggi-do(Yeoju-si) , Yeoju

The stone walls of Pasasan Fortress stretch along the ridge of the 250-meter-high Pasasan Mountain. The fortress is strategically situated for national defense by being located at the edge of the river bank, from which you can see both upstream and downstream. It is said that the fortress was constructed during the reign of the King Pasa, the 5th ruler of the Silla Kingdom. The walls stretch over 1,800 meters in length. At its highest point, the wall is 6.25 meters tall, and 1.4 meters tall at its lowest point.


Chungcheongnam-do(Hongseong-gun)

Opened in December of 1923, Gwangcheon Station was opened as an ordinary railroad station. The area of Gwangcheon Station consists of one eup (population of about 15,000) and four myeons. With its farming, agriculture and small business, this farming community is known nationwide for its togul salted shrimp and Joseon laver.
