The Ahn Jung-geun Memorial Hall located in central Seoul showcases a collection of materials, personal belongings, and relics related to the independent movement activist Ahn Jung-geun’s. The two-story building that also has two underground floors consists of a memorial room, exhibition room, multimedia room and an auditorium. The memorial hall is open from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., and visitors are allowed entrance up to one hour before closing.

Now, his estate has opened Suyeonsanbang’s doors to the public in the form of a charming and peaceful tea house. Famous for its savory tea, beautiful nature, and rich history, Suyeonsanbang has been covered by a variety of foreign media outlets like NHK (Japan), BBC (UK), French TV channels, and numerous Japanese magazines. To take a break during the summer heat, visitors come to Suyeonsanbang to try their patbingsu (shaved ice with red beans), one of its summer specialties. Having been operated for over 20 years, Masan Genakjjim serves a traditional blue crab dish (kkotge). The restaurant uses fresh ingredients such as blue crab directly delivered from Yeonpyeongdo Island, long-legged octopus from the dawn market, chili from Yeongyang, Gyeongsangbuk-do, and garlic from Uiseong to make their dish tasty. The flavor of the meat stock is deep and light thanks to the natural ingredients such as kelp, anchovies, button mushrooms, and spring onions that are used instead of artificial seasonings. Adding more flavor to the dish are chemical-free bean sprouts and freshly cooked-rice. Ganjang-gejang (soy sauce marinated crab) is available for delivery on orders of three crabs or more.

The tour program at Everland Environmental Academy is aimed at raising environmental awareness through firsthand experience of the waste water processing and purifying facilities at Everland. These facilities process an average of over 7,000 tons of waste water every day that come from the theme park and the neighboring Caribbean Bay. It takes 24 hours for the collected waste water to become clean again through microbial breakdown and filtering process. The purified water, which is reused for watering the flower garden at the theme park and also partly released into the river, is clean enough for carp to live in.Linked to the elementary school curriculum, the tour program is offered in basic and advanced courses, both of which are designed to experience the entire water purification process with the aim of learning the causes of water pollution and the importance of clean water.


Busan(Dongnae-gu)

Dongnae Hot Spring in Busan dates back to Korea’s three kingdom period. Records show that King Sukjong (1661-1720), the 19th king of the Chosun Dynasty, visited during the 17th year of his reign.The hot spring offers alkaline/saline water with a high concentration of chlorine ions and magnesium. The facility can accommodate up to 3,000 visitors with over 40 baths of varying styles. For instance, there are baths for nerve pain or stomach disorders while others are filled with herbal remedies and operate seasonally. Located in downtown Busan, Dongnae Hot Spring will be even easier to access with the planned subway station. The hot spring has been frequented for many decades and has well-developed lodging facilities in its vicinity. Visitors who enjoy hiking may want to consider a visit to Geumjeongsan Mountain and Geumgang Park on the same trip.
