Mouse Rabbit

European café Mouse Rabbit with a white terrace is a café run by Super Junior’s Yesung and his brother.  The store with 3 floors with different atmosphere and charm provides the fun of selecting floors and tables according to taste. The basement floor, called "rabbit hole" and "underworld," has tables and furnaces, enabling comfortable rest with low lamination.  There is the first floor with the counter and the outer terrace, and the second floor with stores decorated with various decorations and figures. The various art products of paper toys, cell phone cases, mug cups, and eco bags designed and produced by hand by Mouse Rabbit is popular with its fans.  Mouse Rabbit was named after the animals mouse and rabbit representing Yesung and his brother running the café.  The showcase within the store is full of Yesung’s pictures, and because you can purchase art products manufactured by Mouse Rabbit, fans are unceasingly visiting the café.  At the end of 2015, with the popularity of Mouse Rabbit’s Konkuk University Store, the second store of Mouse Rabbit was opened at Seochon, a new hotplace selling coffee, beer, handmade desserts and snacks.

Doseonsa Temple
Seoul(Gangbuk-gu)

From the last Uidong bus stop, follow the road 2.5km past Jabium and Cheongdam Waterfall to Annyangam and the ‘Mind's Square,’ the first two areas of Doseonsa Temple.Doseonsa Temple was established 1,100 years ago during the latter part of the Silla Kingdom when the renowned Buddhist priest Doseonguksa was traveling through the mountains. After visiting the site, Doseonguksa made a prophecy that led to the construction of the temple. According to legend, he used only his walking stick to carve the large Bodhisattva that sits at the temple. Interestingly enough, the statues does not show any evidence of chisel marks, further adding to the mystery of how the statue was made.During the 7th year of King Gwangmu of the Joseon Dynasty the Doseonsa Temple was officially named the representative temple of Korea with the purpose of promoting Cheongdamdaejongsa's Korean Buddhism movement, aiming at a religious revival. Due to these special circumstances Deseonsa Temple gained a high reputation and much recognition, which have held strong to this day.Inside the temple, visitors can view the remains and written works of Cheongdamdaejongsa in the Cheongdamdaejongsa Memorial Hall. Next to the road leading to Cheonbuljeon is a pond where you can toss a coin and make a wish and just past Yongammun is a hiking path connecting Baegundae and Insubong. Inside the Ksitigarbha Hall are portraits of President Park Chung-hee, Yuk Yeong-su, and Hyundai Chairman Chung Ju-yung. In front of the hall is a tree that is said to have been planted by a Buddhist priest who brought it from India 200 years ago. Historical artifacts can be found throughout the temple.

National Maritime Museum
Jeollanam-do(Mokpo-si)

The National Maritime Museum is the only domestic marine museum. Opened in 1994, it is a 2-story building with a B1 floor. There are 4 main exhibit halls and one special exhibit hall. At Exhibition 1, "Underwater Cultural Heritage from Wando," about 3,000 Goryeo ceramic relics excavated from just off the Eoduri sea, Wando district, and the Wooden ship of the Goryeo (918~1392) dynasty are exhibited. The Wando ship is a model of the original boat, half the size of the original ship. You can view the landscape around the old sea and learn about the world’s marine excavation history in this exhibition hall. At Exhibition 2, “Underwater Cultural Heritage from Sinan," you can view 22,000 pieces of 14th century Chinese ships, crockery and golden-ware. At Exhibition 3, "The Life of a Korean Fishing Village," you can learn about the traditional fishing techniques and tools, and you can view the living conditions of those times. It is interesting to compare the fishing methods of today to the past. And at Exhibition 4, "Korean Traditional Boats," you can see the development of Korean shipping and shipbuilding. There are many models displayed, from the ships of the Goryeo dynasty to the oilers of today. The rabbit and turtle shaped ships are quite eye-catching. When you have finished touring all the exhibit halls, take a stroll down the lounge to the souvenir shop to relax. On clear warm days, it is soothing to sit in the lounge under the warm sun. The sunshine coming through the window is brilliant. After a break, you can go outside to the outdoor exhibit, and enjoy seeing more traditional ships. Ieyoung Contemporary Art Museum is a personal collection of art that features valuable works centered on humanitarianism. Entering the eco-friendly exhibition space, you will be met by works of contemporary masters, ranging from sculptures to Oriental and Western paintings. In addition to exhibitions, the gallery also holds hands-on art programs for children.The gallery is home to the largest collection of works by Park Sang-Gwang, a patriotic painter. In 2004, to mark the 100th anniversary of Park’s birth, the gallery created a foundation with the dual purpose of studying Park and his works and indentifying undiscovered traditional artists in Korea. Ever since the establishment of the foundation, the gallery had increased in both collection size and quantity year after year.
