Daejong Film Festival
Seoul(Yeongdeungpo-gu)

Designed to promote Korean films, Daejong Film Festival is the oldest film award ceremony in Korea and the only film award program hosted by the government. The festival screens and honors many of the past year’s movies and provides a weeklong opportunity for the public to enjoy nominated selections free-of-charge. Each year’s winners are selected based on opinions of festival-goers and film experts. The event brings together fans, the media and people from across the film industry for an exciting public event.Festival Information:The festival selects and awards notable films released in the last year. During the festival, the public can enjoy over 40 nominated movies at no cost that showcase areas of the Korean film industry. The ceremony offers 26 awards including ones for ‘Special Film’ by the Review Committee, Best Actor in a Leading Role, Best Actor in a Supporting Role, Cinematography, Film Editing, Music, Visual Effects, and Directing. As the most prestigious industry award program in Korea, the Daejong Film Awards hundreds of Korean stars together in one place. In the hours leading up to the ceremony, visitors wait outside for stars to grace the red carpet. Imsil Cheese Theme Park (임실치즈테마파크)

The history of Imsil cheese began in 1958. At that time, Imsil had no local specialty or unique color of its own, which changed when Ji Jeong-hwan, a Belgian priest came to the region as a missionary. The governor of Imsil-gun asked the priest to work for the community, not just for Catholics in Imsil. After much thoughts, he decided to make cheese. In the beginning, he made cheese with goat milk. Imsil's reputation as a cheese village, which began with just two goats, is now blooming with the establishment of Imsil Cheese Theme Park. Imsil Cheese Theme Park consists of cheese experience centers, a promotion center, a milk processing factory, a local specialty shop, etc., where one can meet the past, present and future of Imsil cheese. The Cheese Science Lab is continuing research to make premium cheese.

Cheongnyangsa Temple
Gyeongsangnam-do(Hapcheon-gun)

Cheongnyangsa Temple, located in Gayasan National Park, is famous for its stone lanterns, pagodas, and images of Buddha. The exact date of the temple's foundation is unknown (estimated to be in the 9th century), but was recorded by Choi Chi-won in the Three Kingdoms Period and is believed to have been built during the Silla Dynasty.

Yangyang Surfyy Beach, surfing

Surfyy Beach is a 1 kilometer-long surf designated beach, just north of Hajodae Beach in Yangyang. It's the first of its kind in Korea and has the most trainers and approximately 1,000 surfboards while also operating Surf School. Training is available for all different levels from beginners to advanced, and for those only looking to surf, board and wetsuits are available for rent. Surf yoga, longboard, snorkeling and other programs are also available. The beach has various zones including bean bag zone, hammock zone, chilling zone, and sunbed zone for visitors to enjoy. There are also pub & lounge, camping facilities and more for visitors convenience.

Janghohang Port

Janghohang Port is just 25km from downtown Samcheok. The port is famous for its round beach line and white sand shore and is known as the “Naples of Korea.” From the beach, Janghohang Port offers excellent views of unique rock formations in the sea. Being that it is a port town, it is a rich provider of seafood such as abalone, seaweed and sea cucumber. It is also known as an excellent place for recreational fishing.Janghohang Port provides many opportunities for a diverse array of activities.
