Seoul Open Night

Seoul Culture Night is one of major summer festival held at nighttime, featuring Seoul’s nature, culture and architecture for visitors including Seoul residents and tourists. It will be held in the area of Seoul Square and DDP (Dongdaemun Design Plaza) and other places in Seoul. Various cultural facility which are not open in the normal days, and other creative and hands-on programs are prepared to give unique excitement.

Bucheon Botanical Garden
Gyeonggi-do(Bucheon-si) , Bucheon

Housed in a 27,124 m2 building with two ground floors and two underground floors, the Bucheon Botanical Garden houses many rare plants for visitors to see. The building was built in the shape of a peach flower, the symbol of Bucheon City, and has five thematic gardens: the general plant garden, aquatic plant garden, tropical plant garden, succulent plant garden, and indigenous plant garden. At the central garden, 9,975 trees representing some 310 species are planted. With a forest nearby, the botanical garden offers a great nature learning experience for visitors. Together with the Natural Ecology Museum and Children Zoo nearby, it is also a great cultural and recreational destination.

Cheongpodae Beach
Chungcheongnam-do(Taean-gun)

Cheongpodae Beach is located in the coastal zone of Taean Coast National Park. It's gently curved shoreline, unique rock formations, pine trees, and migratory birds all combine to make one spectacular scenery. The sand is white, the waves are not too high, and the water temperature is just right — all these are reasons to make this the next family vacation destination.  Nearby beaches include Yeonpo Beach, Mongsanpo Beach, Baeksajang Beach, Sambong Beach and Bangpo Beach.

Naksan Provincial Park
Gangwon-do(Yangyang-gun)

Naksan Provincial Park (낙산도립공원) has 24km of shoreline that extends through the Seonsa relic area, Dongho Beach, Hajodae Beach, etc. and is centered round Naksansa Temple and Naksan Beach of Yangyang.At Naksan Provincial Park, there is Hongryeonam, Uisangdae Pond, Giamgoeseok, and a shoreline cliff of pine trees, trees which have endured for a very long time. Near the beach, Namdae stream, which flows from Mt. Seoraksan, forms a lake. Hajodae, where traces of Ha-ryun and Jo-jun (retainers of the Joseon Period (1392~1910) remain, is famous for the Giam Cliff and lighthouses on high cliffs. Naksan Beach is a famous recreational area, with its amusement parks and various other facilities. It is a sandy field surrounded by 4km of thick pine forest. The beach is safe due to its shallow waters, and nearby is Uisangdae and Naksansa Temple, some of the most famous sites of Gwandong.

Yeongdong Nan-Gye Korean Traditional Music Festival
Chungcheongbuk-do(Yeongdong-gun)

Yeongdong, the hometown of Joseon Dynasty’s traditional music virtuoso, Park Yeon, is regarded as the Mecca of Korean traditional music. Every year, the Korean traditional music festival named after Park’s pen name, Nangye, is held in the area. In addition to featuring various exhibitions and experience programs centered on Korean traditional music, the Yeongdong Nangye Traditional Music Festival offers cultural arts and foods in conjunction with the Yeongdong Wine Festival. Visitors can enjoy various program including royal ancestral rites, parade, contest for reciting a sijo, and other hands-on program through traditional music.

Gaudo Island
Jeollanam-do(Gangjin-gun)

Gaudo Island is the only populated island of the eight islands in Gangjinman Bay. The name, meaning "cow head," comes from its appearance when seen from Boeunsan Mountain. The island is connected to the mainland on both sides by hanging bridges. The island also features a 2.5 km-long trekking course that showcases the beautiful environment of both the mountains and the ocean.

Also, related corporations, organizations and universities take part in the festival to introduce the world-class port festival all over the world. Nearly 30 programs are planned for visitors of families, friends, and couples alike. One of the outstanding programs featured at the festival is the Busan Port Tour, in which visitors get on a ship to see North Port. Another popular program is the Embarkment Experience that displays a naval vessel and marine police vessel, both of which are rare to see. Busan Port Parade offers a dynamic performance and music, and Busan Port Stamp Tour is available to enjoy various exhibitions and hands-on programs at the National Maritime Museum and other festival facilities.
