Haewoojae Museum
Gyeonggi-do(Suwon-si) , suwon

After demolishing the house in which he lived for 30 years, Mr. Toilet, Sim Jaedeok, built this house in the shaped of a toilet in order to celebrate the establishment of the World Toilet Association (WTA). He named it Haewoojae (해우재), which means "a house to relive one’s concerns," a term used in temples when referring to the restroom. Construction began in May 2007 by architect Go Giung, and finished on November 11, 2007. Haewoojae was credited as being the biggest toilet sculpture by the Korea Record Institute in 2007, and it got a lot of attention by domestic and foreign media outlets. After Sim Jaedeok passed away, his family donated the house to Suwon-si in July 2009, according to his will, and Suwon-si decided to remodel the place to commemorate him, making it into a Haewoojae cultural exhibit. * Opening date: October 30, 2010

Wando Tower
Jeollanam-do(Wando-gun)

Wando Tower is an impressive 76 meters in x_height, and stands at the top of Dongmangsan Mountain in Wando-eup. The area includes a plaza, walking path, resting area, and offers a fantastic view of the sunrise, sunset, and city at night. The tower also overlooks several islands including Cheongsando Island, Bogildo Island, Nohwado Island, Sinjido Island and Gogeumdo Island. On clear days with high visibility, some islands like Jejudo Island and Geomundo Island are also within sight. Located next to the tower is Bongsudae (a fire signal beacon) and a walking path through Dongmangsan Mountain.

Suanbo Hot Springs Special Tourist Zone
Chungcheongbuk-do(Chungju-si)

Suanbo Hot Springs Special Tourist Zone is a time-honored hot springs resort in Korea. Known as the first naturally yielding hot springs that started to flow 30,000 years ago, its effect is also widely recognized. Gushing out from 100 m underground, its water is weak alkaline in nature, and the temperature is 53℃. What's more, the water contains minerals and far-infrared effect. This is why a large number of people flock to the hot springs for treatment and recuperation. Currently, it is under the jurisdiction of Chungju-si City. At the center of Suanbo Hot Springs is Multang Park, with a shallow hot spring water stream, which is used as a foot bath. For those who are not able to take a bath, a foot bath is a good option. The foot bath is especially popular from autumn to spring. Most visitors to Suanbo Hot Springs stay at a hotel or motel in the area. The restaurants here serve pheasant dishes, the local specialty. Suanbo Hot Springs Special Tourist Zone is adjacent to the national road that spans from downtown Chungju-si City to Mungyeong. Sitting in the heart of the Korean Peninsula, it is easy to access from Seoul and other provincial cities. Apart from the hot springs, there is a lot to see in this area, such as Woraksan Mountain, Chungjuho Lake and Songgye Valley. Neungkang Sotdae Art Museum
Chungcheongbuk-do(Jecheon-si)

Neungkang Sotdae Art Museum in Neunggang-ri of Jechun-si City in Chungcheongbuk-do Province is a museum of 'sotdaes,' which are ancient prayer poles with a duck or bird-shaped figurine on top that were usually placed at the village entrance. Many of these artifacts can be found inside and outside of a modern structure at the museum site, which is located near the vast Chungju Lake. Other nearby tourist attractions include Neunggang Valley that is situated at the foot of Geumsusan Mountain and surrounded by lush pine forests, rocky cliffs, streams and waterfalls. There is also Jeongbangsa Temple, which is told to have been built by the renowned Buddhist priest, Uisang, during the Silla Kingdom.

Jeungsan Beach

A small and quiet beach, Jeungsan is close to Chotdae (Candlestick) Bawi Rock in Chuam Beach, which is famous for its breathtaking sunrises. Yeongchwisan Azalea Festival

In the spring, the mountainsides transform into a sea of pink as the azaleas come into full bloom. The annual Yeongchwisan Azalea Flower Festival in April celebrates the beauty of the mountain flowers through a variety of outdoor performances and programs such as the Miss Azalea Flower Pageant.

Ganggyeong Traditional Salted Fish Market
Chungcheongnam-do(Nonsan-si)

The Ganggyeong Traditional Salted Fish Market is one of the largest markets of its kind in Korea. Shop owners in Ganggyeong are renowned for making undeniably great-tasting products and are skilled at distinguishing the good ones from the bad. Hence, the best salted fish products are known to be from Ganggyeong. The Yeomcheon-ri province of Ganggyeong is where merchants distribute enormous supplies of salted fish, such as salted shrimps and yellow corvinas, to the rest of the nation. The trade of salted shrimps from these regions makes up half the entire salted shrimp market in Korea. The Traditional Salted Fish Market becomes crowded from mid-June to the end of November, just before the Kimjang season (season for preparing kimchi for the winter). During this busy season, the market bustles with wholesalers, shop owners, and housewives in search of delicious salted fish. From early August to early December as many as 250 drums of salted fish are sold. Also, the Ganggyeong Traditional Salted Fish Festival which is held every year, is well worth a visit.

Ulleungdo Family Hotel - Goodstay
