Ulsan Soeburi Cultural Festival
Gyeongsangnam-do(Gimhae-si)

Ulsan has produced iron for 2,000 years stretching back through the Samhan Dynasty and then the Joseon Dynasty (1392~1910). In the 1960’s it began it’s rise as the major iron industrial center of Korea. The region’s traditional iron culture is the theme of this festival. Activities include a traditional folk game called ‘Soeburi (a game played by making iron)’, Pungmul (folk music) performances, and learning programs.

Peak Island is located at Korea’s highest above the sea level of 700m which consists of one basement floor and four ground floors. As main facilities there are beach pool, sweat chamber, Kid’s pool, running water pool, open-air theme pool, slides, sauna, and various events are available. In addition, with waterfall ice cave, it is possible to enjoy winter’s snow falling ambiance just as Finland’s winter.

The restaurant opened in 1999 with 76 seats, but after it was remodeled in 2008 and the number of seats was increased to 126, among which 40 are Western style seating to accommodate the needs of international guests and elderly people. The interior is decorated with photos taken by the restaurant owner to add to the unique atmosphere. The owner turned the traditional Korean dish of gondeurebap (steamed rice with seasoned cirsium) into something new, serving it in a dolsot (hot stone bowl). The restaurant serves more than 20 different types of side dishes to satisfy customers' various tastes.

Armiae means “creating beauty through mugwort.” Armiae World provides its visitors with various opportunities to experience Ganghwa mugwort.Mugwort Korean Beef Restaurant serves quality beef from cattle fed Ganghwa mugwort. The restaurant features a modern interior with beautiful views of the surrounding area. The Mugwort Experience Hall presents various mugwort-related experience programs such as a spa, foot bath, and sitz bath. The Agricultural Exhibition Hall provides a childrens' interactive experience about the value of farming, and the Onsaemiro Maze Park offers a history trip of Ganghwa greenhouses along the labyrinth. Other facilities include the Pottery Experience Hall, Ganghwa Agricultural Goods Sales Office, outdoor lawn square for events and picnics, and a processing plant for agricultural and indigenous products including mugwort.Armiae World is located at the foot of Hyeolgusan Mountain, which is well-known for beautiful azalea flowers in the spring. Providing hands-on experiences in farming, Armiae World is emerging as a unique tourist attraction of Ganghwado Island.
