Daejeon()

Daejeon Science Festival started in 2000 at Daejeon Expo Science Park. The festival aims to cultivate an interest in science among students and citizens alike, promoting Daejeon as the science capital of Korea. With the theme of “Fusion of Science and Culture! Glance into the Future!” the festival will run for five days at various areas around the park.


Gyeongsangnam-do(Goseong-gun)

Goseong Dinosaur Museum (고성 공룡박물관), located in Sangjogam (상족암) County Park, is Korea’s first dinosaur museum. It was built next to one of the world’s largest dinosaur footprint fossil sites and opened to the public on 9 November 2004. Located in the center of the beautiful Sangjogam area, the museum is a tourist attraction that showcases both major dinosaur footprints as well as breathtaking scenery. The four-story building offers five exhibition halls and other special-purpose rooms such as an A/V room.


Jeollanam-do(Yeonggwang-gun)

The Baeksu Coastal Road is National Highway 77 and Provincial Highway 14. It is one of the best drives in Jeollanam-do Province. Driving on this road, one encounters dynamically changing landscapes, including splendid rocks on along the coastal cliffs. The road is 16.5 kilometers long and gives a beautiful view of the Chilsan Sea. During sunset, beautiful colors along the west coast draw crowds of visitors all year round.


Chungcheongbuk-do(Danyang-gun)

Built during the Japanese occupation, Suyanggae Tunnel has a length of 200 meters and x_width of 5 meters. The tunnel was neglected for many year until recent rennovation into a light tunnel. The light tunnel consist of updated videos, sound system and LED media facade, drawing visitors both locally and internationally.


Gyeongsangnam-do(Geochang-gun)

Solmarugil Road, an ‘eco path of Ulsan’ that connects the people with mother nature, is a 24-km urban circuit walk that starts from Seonam Lake Park and connects with Sinseonsan Mountain, Daegongwonsan Mountain, Munsu International archery range, Solmaru Haneul-gil, Samhosan Mountain and Namsan Mountain. Climbing up to the top of Sinseonjeong Pavilion on Sinseonsan Mountain, you may enjoy the wide, breathtaking view of Seonam Lake Park. The route to Daegongwosan Mountain is gradual, rather than steep, and the thick pine tree forest offers a great spot for a forest bath. Since the road connects mountains with the city, it offers easy access and diverse walking routes to urbanites.


Chungcheongbuk-do(Jecheon-si)

Bakdaljae refers to the steep hills dividing Bongyang-eup and Baekun-myeon in Jecheon-si. It has a legendary sad love story about Bakdal doryeong and Geumbong nangja. Jecheon-si uses the characters of ‘Bakdari and Geumbongi’ to promote. Iljumun Gate is set at the entrance of the hill to offer things to see for visitors. Also, based on Bakdaljae landmark project, it became a famous site for tourists.


Jeollanam-do(Haenam-gun)

Situated at the southernmost part of the Korean peninsula, Ttangkkeut Songho Beach is the most representative beach in Haeum, featuring dense old pine trees, fine sand, and shallow water perfect for a family vacation spot. Hundreds of pine trees create a scenic forest almost 1km long along the levee which provides a suitable camping site under the forest. Ttangkkeut-gil walking path connects the front of an auto camping site at Songho Beach to Galsan Village and Ttangkkeut Top. The Windbreak pine tree forest in Songho-ri, Haenam is designated as Jeollanam-do’s Monument No. 142, including around 600 pine trees aged 200 years and playing a role in the coastal shelterbelt.

Gangwon-do(Pyeongchang-gun)

Geumdang Valley (금당계곡), located upstream of the Pyeongchanggang River, is a gorge between three different districts of Bongpyeong-myeon, Yongpyeong-myeon and Daehwa-myeon, just west of Geumdangsan Mountain (1,173 m). Geumdang Valley is an impressive site with sections of both gentle and fast flowing valley waters. From late March through April full-blown azalea covers the mountainsides and valleys providing visitors with a refreshing spring scent . To reach Geumdang Valley, travel down along the Pyeongchanggang River from Jangpyeong or, you trek up the valley from Anmi elementary school. Coming down to Pyeongchang-eup from Daehwa-myeon area, visitors will encounter an intersection called, “Saechugeori”. The intersection has two parts: Sanganmi and Haanmiri and a sign indicating the Geumdang Valley entrance. Across the valley, odd-shaped rock formations and cliffs appear one after another along the river. The area is a native habitat for a spcies of otter (Natural Treasure No. 330) and a favorite spot for catching catfish.


Gyeongsangnam-do(Geochang-gun)

Ulsan Whale Festival is held in the area of Jangsaengpo Whale Culture Special Zone. The area is equipped with more things that allow visitors to see this new cultural village, such as the whale museum, Jangsaengpo Whale Watching Cruise, and Jangsaengpo Whale Life Experience Museum. The new variety of sites at the festival will give visitors an extra level of fun and discovery.
