Gangwon-do(Hongcheon-gun)

Located at the foot of Jongjasan Mountain in Hongcheon, Gangwon-do, Healience Zen Village is considered the Korean first wellness center, surrounded by nature. It is also becoming known as a well-aging healing resort. Owned by Lee Sihyeong who is a noted psychiatrist and a best-seller author, the resort offers various scientific and well-planned programs such as their health experience, menu to strengthen immunity, and professional instructors. There is a digital-detox program which helps to relax one’s brain and body with the removal of the internet, cell-phones and other electronic devices. Ten man-made trekking courses and various eco-friendly facilities are also available on-site.


Gyeongsangnam-do(Miryang-si)

Pyochungsa Temple is located at the base of Jaeyaksan Mountain, 20 kilometers away to the east of Miryang-si. The temple was built in the fourth year of King Heungdeok’s reign of the Silla Kingdom (829). It was named as ‘Pyochungsa’ to praise Samyeongdang Yujeong (aka Monk Songun Daesa) who played an important role in the peace envoy during the invasion of Japan. There are the Cheungcheung Falls, Geumgang Falls an icy stream nearby, as well as Sajapyeong field at the ridge of the mountain.


Gyeongsangbuk-do(Andong-si)

This hanok was built by Ryu Jin-geol, also known by his pen name Suae, in 1939. It is located beside the head household of the Sugok Clan who were part of the Jeonju Ryu family. When you enter the lofty, 5-kan*-high gate, you will find 3 buildings that measure 29 kans in total. Suaedang House has a gabled-roof, and is composed of a 7-by-2-kan residential area, and a 10-kan shed, which are situated together in a ㄱ-shape. The hanok was used as an ancestral memorial hall, and later designated as the 56th Cultural Relic of Gyeongsangbuk-do. It has been well preserved, as it was built with sturdy pine usually found in the Chunyang region. The patterns on the lattice doors have peculiar shapes, and the house as a whole faithfully embodies the architectural technique of the late Joseon Dynasty. Gangwon-do(Taebaek-si)

365 Safe Town is a one-of-a-kind safety awareness theme park combining education, entertainment, recreation, and leisure into one public park. It is the world’s first edutainment facility dedicated to teaching the public safety lessons about fire, earthquakes, and other natural disasters. The park consists of three different areas. The Jangseong-jigu Zone (Korea Youth Safety Experience Hall) provides a realistic experience of natural disasters through 3D and 4D installations. The Jungang-jigu (Challenge World) offers a chance to test one’s limits through outdoor experience facilities like the tree track and zip line. Lastly, the Cheoram-jigu (Gangwon-do Fire Fighting Academy) is a specialized training center for fire-fighting officers.


Jeollabuk-do(Gunsan-si)

Situated in Bundang Sindosi, the Lotte Department Store Bundang Branch is a leader of the shopping culture as the city’s highly sensible fashion department store. The region’s largest Uniqlo store is featured in the Lotte Department Store Bundang Branch, while other popular brands including 30 cosmetic brands, J. Press and Brooks Brothers can only be found here. In addition, its recently renovated grocery corner is very well received by its customers. Store hours are from 10:30am to 8:00pm, with extended hours on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays. It is closed for one Monday a month.

Sin Jae-Hyo (1812-1884) is a legendary theorist and sponsor of pansori (epic chant). Sin spent his entire life in Gochang-gun, nurturing many disciplines, who later became masters of pansori. He also compiled and edited six pansori madangs (operas) titled Ttoggi Taryeong, Bak Taryeong, Simcheongga, Jeokbyeokga, Chunhyangga, and Garujigi Taryeong.
