Ganghwa Dolmen Culture Festival is the most famous of Ganghwa Island’s festivals. It celebrates the island’s dolmens, which have been designated as a World Heritage site by UNESCO. Every year, many tourists visit this cultural festival to explore the beautiful rural island and learn about its history.The festival has two major programs, “Dolmen Festival” and “Dolmen Academy”. "Dolmen Festival" includes several performances, such as the reenactment of a traditional Korean funeral ceremony and a demonstration of how the dolmens were constructed. To learn about the history and culture of Ganghwa’s dolmens, visitors should check out the events in the “Dolmen Academy” program, which include a photo exhibition and a photo zone.Visitors can also try out various activities, such as making “yakssuk” (medical herb) rice cakes, learning the traditional tea and wedding ceremonies, and kite flying.


Gangwon-do(Gangneung-si)

Established in 1918, Jumunjin Lighthouse is the first light house in Gangwon-do region. The lighthouse is 3m in max diameter and 10m in x_height with white mortar covered the exterior wall. The building shows the early structure of the country’s lighthouse architecture, which is a great value in terms of the nation’s architectural history. The light signal blinks at 15-second interval and can be identified from 37km away. The lighthouse was once destroyed during Korean War and restored in 1951. Jumunjinhang Harbor, where the lighthouse is located, is 210,000㎡ in size. After becoming a half-way station of Busan-Wonsan Route in 1917, both passenger and freight vessels made an entrance to the harbor.

Located in Donghae-si, Gangwon-do, DQ Motel is 2~3 minutes away from Donghae Express Bus Terminal by walking, and so it is easy to get there by public transportation. In addition, Hongcheon Narakkot Mugunghwa Festival is held at the same period, giving tourists the chance to partake in diverse programs. Nearby attractions include Hongcheon Gingko tree forest, opened only for a short time each year in early October and selected as the best area for healing.


Jeju-do(Seogwipo-si)

The idea behind Jeju Eco Suites was created by a husband-and-wife team of tour guide and painter. Jeollabuk-do(Jangsu-gun)

Nongae was born in Juchon Village, Daegok-ri, Janggye-myeon in the 7th year of King Seonjo (September 3, 1575). A clever and beautiful lady, Nongae voluntarily registered as a gisaeng (female entertainer) at the age of 19 when the nation was infiltrated by Japanese invaders during the Imjin War. While entertaining one evening, she led Japanese general Keyamura Rokusuke to the edge of a cliff and flung her arms around him, casting both herself and the general into the Jinju Namgang River to their deaths. To commemorate her faithfulness and allegiance her country, a project to restore her place of birth was completed in September 2000, drawing many visitors. Nearby Nongae’s birthplace are many tourist attractions, including the Deogyusan Mountain and Odongje (both of which have a compelling view) and a hiking trail that connects Jangansan Mountain County Park, Jiji Valley, and Donghwa Dam.
