Gangwon-do(Chuncheon-si)

Located in 34, Gangchon-ro, Namsan-myeon, Chuncheon-si, Gangwon-do, Gangchon Station is one of train stations in Gyeongchun Line. It is situated between Gimyujeong and Baekyang-ri. The metropolitan subway line, Gyeongchun Line, started operating on December 21, 2010 and rapid train used to stop at the station even during weekdays since August 2011. However, the rapid train is no more operating due to the introduction of ITX-Cheongchun Train.


Gangwon-do(Sokcho-si)

Opened 20 years ago, Ilchulbong Hoetjip (a raw fish restaurant) has special rooms designated for the comfort of international customers on the second floor and banquet rooms on the third floor. Located near the beach, the restaurant commands a great view of East Sea from the third floor.

Located in Yeoryang-ri, Buk-myeon, Jeongseon-eup, Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do, Jeongseon Arirang Training Hall was established to preserve and promote the Jeongseon Arirang (Gangwon-do’s Intangible Culture Asset No. 1). The first floor of the Training Center Hall holds Jeongseon Arirang Material Room and a training center of Chang, Korea's traditional narrative singing method. On the second floor, Jeongseon Arirang Performance Hall, Training Hall, and video facilities are available. Also, Living Hall Building has a restaurant that can accommodate up to 50 people on the first floor and 5 guest rooms as accommodation facilities that can accommodate up to 6-7 people each on the second floor.


Gangwon-do(Hongcheon-gun)

Organized by Hongcheon-gun and Hongcheon-gun Festival Organizing Committee, Hongcheon Winter Festival is held near Hongcheongyo Bridge in Hongcheon-gun, Gangwon-do. Every year, the festival has a different theme, with activities that include trout fishing, playing in the snow and on the ice, ice sledding, and more. Gangwon-do(Pyeongchang-gun)

The restaurant opened in 1999 with 76 seats, but after it was remodeled in 2008 and the number of seats was increased to 126, among which 40 are Western style seating to accommodate the needs of international guests and elderly people. The interior is decorated with photos taken by the restaurant owner to add to the unique atmosphere. The owner turned the traditional Korean dish of gondeurebap (steamed rice with seasoned cirsium) into something new, serving it in a dolsot (hot stone bowl). The restaurant serves more than 20 different types of side dishes to satisfy customers' various tastes.


Gangwon-do(Yeongwol-gun)

The Dongang ferry was once a popular mode of transportation along the Hangang River. While it was gradually outdated with the growth of highways and mass transportation, the ferry was a useful mode of transportation and the livelihood of people living upstream of the Hangang River. The festival commemorates and reproduces the lives of these people and their local culture. With the beautiful Donggang River as a backdrop, the event offers a wide array of performances, cultural events (honoring the Joseon poet Kim Sat-gat), and outdoor activities (rafting, hang-gliding, paragliding, etc). The festival hosts many of the fun activities visitors to Yeongwol County can enjoy.


Gangwon-do(Sokcho-si)

Hansongjeong Garden is owned by a first-rate chef who only uses carefully selected ingredients. The owner-chef won the Grand Prize in the SIFE Seoul International Culinary Competition 2007 and received a bronze medal for his work at the Gangwon Tour Service Competition. He also has a patent on Eolgari Nangmyeon (Cold Buckwheat Noodles with Eolgari Kimchi).


Gangwon-do(Gangneung-si)

Gangwon-do’s representative traditional market, Jungang Market opened in 1980 as a permanent market. The market is divided into two main parts; one is a traditional market and the other is an underground fishery market. The second floor has a restaurant and coffee shops. Vendors display their products along the street, providing a typical scene of a traditional market and an opportunity to learn about the life of people in Gangneung.


Gangwon-do(Pyeongchang-gun)
