Nakseongdae Park was built as a tribute to General Kang Gam-chan (948-1031) of the Goryeo Dynasty. In 1973, the city of Seoul reorganized the birthplace of General Kang, resulting in changes to the park. Located inside the park are Anguksa Shrine, the general’s birthplace, and a three-story stone pagoda, which was made during the Goryeo Dynasty. The 4.48 meter-high pagoda is made of granite, and is called “Kang Gam-chan Tap (pagoda)” or “Kang Gam-chan Nakseongdae Tap”.*AnguksaAnguksa is a shrine built in 1974 emulating the wooden architecture style of the Goryeo era. The shrine has high ceilings and houses the portrait of General Kang Gam-chan. The shrine is located on the road leading to the back gate of Seoul National University and has become a popular place in the area.*Nakseongdae YujiNakseongdae Yuji is the birthplace of General Kang Gam-chan and the original location of the three-story pagoda. During the maintenance of Nakseongdae area in 1973, the pagoda was moved into the vicinity of Anguksa Shrine, and a two-meter tall monument was erected in its original location to mark the historical significance of the site.

Gangnam Festival is the biggest festival held in the district, and integrates a series of major festivals. The district hosts the festival to attract foreign visitors and contribute to regional economic growth. The Million People Walking Festival is an event free and open to everyone. Group participation is also available, giving companies, schools, and private groups the chance to enjoy the beautiful spring together. This event will also promote the ecological and historical importance of Namsan Mountain and its seasonal changes.The walking course will include roads paved with elastic blocks, on which people can walk comfortably, and beautiful small streams, providing enjoyable scenery and a good environment for taking a walk. There will be two courses including a 7km full course along Bukcheuksunhwan-ro Road (The north side circle road) (1 hr and 30 min). Various sideline events such as celebratory performances will take place, and there will be a photo zone for family and group participants.


Seoul(Gangnam-gu)

The Seoul Independent Movie Festival is jointly held by the Korean Film Council and the Association of Korean Independent Film & Video. The festival features a national independent film competition and gives awards regardless of theme, type, and length throughout varied genres including plays, experiential documentaries, and animated films. Also, the individual invitation program plans to introduce a variety of trends regarding independent movies. Contemporary indie film makers will gather up to envision a movie reflecting the spirit of the age and to find a good alternative to the existing films. In an effort not to make this festival a one-off event, the Seoul Independent Film Festival is gearing up to revitalize the independent film industry through indie picnic tour screenings, DVD production, online screening, and others. Seoul Independent Movie Festival volunteers have helped revive a “film jury system” for audience members to become critics. The Seoul Independent Movie Festival runs on a daily basis, which has been constantly expanded to distributing channels for independent films. The business aims to offer practical and realistic support for pre-production, distribution, and marketing in order to nurture the best independent film talent.


Seoul(Jung-gu) , Myeongdong

NANTA is one of Korea's top performances, a show about four chefs who must prepare a wedding banquet in just one hour. The plot is depicted through various genres of performances, including percussion that uses kitchen utensils to make beats based on traditional rhythms of samulnori (traditional percussion quartet). The entire show has no spoken dialogue, yet plenty of comedy and romance, too. Meanwhile, since its debut in October 1997, NANTA (also known as Cookin') has earned international acclaim, having been performed on Broadway and at other famous venues worldwide. * Note Due to the MERS outbreak, some performances will be discontinued until July 2015.

Opera Gallery is a French gallery that has 11 branches worldwide: Paris, London, New York, Hong Kong, Singapore, Venice, Miami, Seoul, Monaco, Geneva, and Dubai.
