Odaesan National Park
Gangwon-do(Pyeongchang-gun)

Odaesan National Park was designated as a national park in 1975. Its name was derived from the the following 5 plateaus: Manwoldae, Jangryeondae, Girindae, Sangsamdae and Jigongdae. Featuring the 1,563m high Birobong Peak, Odaesan spreads southwest with Mt. Sodaesan, Horyeongbong Peak and Mt. Sogyebangsan. The east side is connected with Sangwangbong Peak and Durobong Peak, which are over 1,000m high.The representative temple of Odaesan, Woljeongsa Temple, was named after the bright, full moon that rises above Manwoldae (Mt. Dongdaesan). At this temple the famous Octagon shaped 9-story pagoda (National Treasure No.48) and the Stone Seated Buddha Figure (Treasure No.139) is preserved. Also, Jeokmyeolbogung of Woljeongsa is where Monk Ja Jang preserved the Sakyamuni's noble relics. Inside Woljeongsa Temple, follow the fir trees 5 km east, and you will reach Sagoji where Yeonggamsa Temple stands.Odaesan has the largest natural woods of Korea. Many wild animals and plants are known to exist here. The area of Birobong Peak is famous for its Nuncheunkbaek and Yew tree forests. The royal azelea and Geumgang Chorong from Durobong Peak to Sangwangbong Peak are famous and there are animals such as boars, musk deer, turtledoves and colorful woodpeckers living here.

Unamjeong
Gangwon-do(Jeongseon-gun)

Located inside a Gwangwon-do Province resort, Unamjeong is an upscale Korean restaurant that features traditional dishes served in many different styles such as ilpum (main individual dishes), hanjeongsik (set dishes), natgoetsang (lunch) consisting of banga dishes (noble class cooking style), sikgaek (gourmet) bansang, sura jeongsik (royal court meal) and jineobyeol manchan (feast). The restaurant is largely divided into Bongwan (main restaurant), Daryegwan (tea house), Hwangjeonggwan and Sikgaekgwan (separate guest rooms), and Suratgan (kitchen), and has Unamji Pond and Unmaru Pavilion in its yard. Thanks to its authentic traditional meals and charming ambiance, Unamjeong is widely sought after by many for family gatherings and other occasions, including filming of Korean drama Sikgaek starring Kim Jeong-eun and Jin Gu.

Waryong Park

The park is close to natural attractions such as Samcheong Park, Changgyeong Park, and Bukaksan (Mt. Bukak).Although it was difficult to grow trees in the park (and other parts of the country) because of the shallowness of the soil, many citizens participated in the nationwide campaign to plant over 10 million trees across the country, transforming places like Waryong into lush areas filled with flowering plants.In the park, spring blooms forth in a colorful assortment of cherry trees, ume flowers, azaleas, and forsythias, making it a popular destination for family visitors. There are also a variety of excellent amenities: badminton courts, aerobic fields, fitness facilities, and pavilions, wonderful for exercise, leisurely walks, or simply taking a break.A famous hiking trail, running between the Seoul Fortress Wall and Samcheong Park, passes right through the park. Flanked by cherry blossoms, the trail attracts droves of nature lovers throughout the year and especially in spring, when the trees are in full bloom. The trail also passes by the Fortress Wall in Bukaksan.

Muan International Airport

Located in Piseo-ri, Mangun-myeon in Muan-gun, Jeollanam-do Province, Muan International Airport serves as a transportation hub for both domestic flights and as an alternative hub for international flights in and out of Gwangju Airport. Construction of Muan Airport started in 1999; the airport opened for business in November 2007. Nearby the airport are a series of beautiful coastlines spanning a distance of approximately 220 kilometers. Officials hope that the airport will continue to become a key transportation hub of the southwest as the area’s international leisure and tourism industry develop through the promotion of the F1 Grand Prix, the construction of Muan Business City, and the designation of the Free Trade Zone.

Danyang Ondal Open Film Set

The Ondal Open Film Set has been the scene of many popular Korean dramas, including Cheonchutaehu (천추태후), Taewangsasingi (태왕사신기), Kingdom of the Wind (바람의나라), Iljimae (일지매), and Yeongaesomun (연개소문). The set is located within the Ondal tourist site in Yeongchun-myeon, Danyang-gun, Chungcheongbuk-do. In addition to the famous sets themselves, clothes and props used during filming are on exhibit, and models of the drama’s protagonists are available for photos. Visitors are also pleased to experience the many other attractions in the area, including Ondal Cave, a theme park, Ondalsanseong Fortress, Ondalgwan museum, and well-known regional cuisine.
