Seongmun
Chungcheongbuk-do(Danyang-gun)

Two hundred meters upstream from Dodamsambong Peaks is a large rainbow-shaped stone gate on the left side of the river. This oddly-shaped stone arch is called Seongmun. With its fascinating scenery, Seongmun is the second of Danyang’s Eight Scenic Wonders. To the left of the stone gate is a small cave. Inside the cave is Okdap (Stone Field), which is believed to have been cultivated by an old enchantress. The legend of Okdap says that an old enchantress who lived in heaven once came to the earth to get water and then dropped her hairpin, just near the stone gate. She looked for the hairpin but was extremely impressed by the beautiful views. She gave up heaven and lived near the Stone Gate as an ordinary peasant for the rest of her life.

Geumsansa Temple
Jeollabuk-do(Gimje-si)

Located near the entrance of the Moaksan Provincial Park, Geumsansa Temple (금산사) was established by King Beop, or Beopwang, of the Baekje period (599AD). The Buddhist temple features over ten designated cultural properties including Mireukjeon, a national treasure, as well as other attached buildings. The country’s only three-story building containing a Buddha statue, Mireukjeon was built with wood and has a single-open floor inside. In spring, cherry blossom trees come into full bloom from the mountain entrance all the way to Geumsansa; and in winter Buddhist adherents come to bow before the statue of Mireuk bodhisattva inside Mireukjeon or walk in circles around the pagoda. The statue is the largest indoor standing Buddha in the world reaching 11.82 meters of x_height. Yongsan Station

Ever since the introduction of high-speed railroads, Yongsan Station has been a primary station for trains heading towards Honam, Janghyang, and Jeolla-do. Byeongsanseowon Confucian Academy
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Andong-si)

Byeongsanseowon is a Confucian school that was established by esteemed Confucian scholars to pay tribute to the memory of Seong-nyong Yu (1542-1607), who was well-respected for his writings and personality. His mortuary tablet is enshrined at this school. Around the time of 1863, Confucian schools enjoyed many freedoms under the Joseon rule, students and scholars of the school were exempt from taxation and other expenses. Byeongsan Seowon was one of 47 places in all of Korea and 2 in Andong not destroyed during the rule of Daewongun [Politician of Joseon Imperial family, 1820 ~ 1898] in 1868.The Nakdong-gang River is situated just in front of the Confucian Academy. Cross the river and the Byeongsan Mountain can be found. By forming a folding screen like shape around the academy, the mountains both protect and add a serene beauty to the area.

Icheon Baeksa Sansuyu Flower Festival
Gyeonggi-do(Icheon-si) , Icheon

Icheon’s Baeksa Village is home to a number of Sansuyu trees (known as the Japanese Dogwood or Cornus Fruit trees), which have been growing naturally in the area for over 100 years. In early spring, the trees turn a striking bright yellow, whilst in autumn the village is filled with the trees’ vivid red fruits. During the festival, visitors can participate in Korean traditional folk games and watch the Sansuyu flower parade. When the Sansuyu trees blossom, many professional photographers travel to Baeksa Village just to take pictures of this beautiful sight.

Hantangang River

Originating in Cheorwon, Gangwon-do, Hantangang River meets with Youngpyeongcheon Stream that runs through Uncheon and Pocheon to the Imjingang River. Hantangang River is divided into two branches at Jeongok Dam before joining the Imjingang River. One branch runs through Pocheon and the other goes through Yeoncheon. The Hantangang River area around Jeongok Dam, is known for its bass fishing, but the anglers avoid the branch that runs through Pocheon because the water is polluted.
