Gageodo Island

Tangeumdae Terrace & Park
Chungcheongbuk-do(Chungju-si)

Located in Chilgeum-dong, Chungju, Gyeongsangbuk-do Province, Tangeumdae Terrace is a historically significant place that was designated as Scenic Spot No. 42. The place was named Tangeumdae because it was where Ureuk, the celebrated musician of the Silla Dynasty (BC 57-AD 935), used to played the gayageum (traditional stringed instrument). During the Imjin War (Japanese invasion, 1592-1598), Tangeumdae Terrace was also the battlefield where General Shin Rip and his troops fought fierce battles against the invading forces. This is why a monument for the fallen heroes was built at this site. The area is widely known as Tangeum Pak as there are various other attractions around the area such as a monument honoring the patriotic spirit of General Shin Rip, an outdoor music hall, sculptures, grass fields, etc.

Beartree Park is a beautiful natural space in Chungcheongnam that is built to honor the Manchurian Black Bear and the delicate balance between man and nature. Indoor and outdoor botanical gardens, junipers, wild flowers, irises, and bonsais are tended with the utmost of care and visitors are given strict instructions on how to enjoy the space to the fullest without harming the plants or upsetting the animals. Ganghwa Dolmen Site [UNESCO World Heritage
Incheon(Ganghwa-gun)

Introduction ‘Dolmens’ are stone graves/tombs which date back to the pre-historic era. Dolmens are largely concentrated in Northeast Asia with Korea alone being home to a total of around 30,000 dolmens. The Ganghwa Dolmen Heritage Site, in Bugeun-ri, Ganghwa-gun, Incheon, encompasses roughly 120 dolmens, most of which are Northern-style dolmen that are made of large pieces of stone 7.1m in length and 2.6m in height. The dolmens in this region are found in unusual altitudes of 100-200m above sea level and reveal important information about the prehistoric period. The Ganghwa Dolmen site was registered as a UNESCO World Heritage in Nov. 29th, 2000 along with Gochang Dolmen and Hwasun Dolmen sites. You may enjoy the best view of this historic site around sunset. The Dadaepo Beach, famous its wide stretch of sand and many young spirits, is home to the Dadaepo Sunset Fountain of Dream, the world’s largest water fountain.The music fountain, as the first of its kind set up in Busan, shoots water up to 55 m above the ground and displays a choreographed show of water dancing along with the background music. Visitors watch a fantastic fusion of sound, light and water along with various cultural events, performed nearby. Located nearby the fountain, there are Nakjo Park on Molundae Cliff, Dadaepo Beach and Eulsukdo Island Ecological District.From March to November, the fountain show is four times during day, and once in the evening (twice on Saturday, Sunday and national holidays). No shows on Mondays.

Yeongam Gurim Hanok Village

Nestled at the foot of Wolchulsan Mountain's western side in Yeongam-gun, Jeollanam-do, Yeongam Gurim Hanok Village has a 2,200 year-long history, stretching from the Three Han States to Proto Three Kingdom Period. The village is abundant with various historical stories and features, offering plenty of cultural tourism resources. The village includes 12 pavilions including Hoesajeong Pavilion and Gukamsa Shrine, traditional houses, stone walls, and old oak trees. Especially, 96 Korean-house accommodations including Anyongdang, Wolindang, Gukamsa, and Anhyeongung are located for tourists to stay in a traditional Hanok as well as to offer various traditional programs like paper craft, traditional wedding ceremony, rice cake-pounding, straw craft, catching fish, water activities and others. Also, Wangin Cherry Blossom Festival and Chrysanthemum Festival are held here every year.
