Eoreumgol Valley
Gyeongsangnam-do(Miryang-si)

Just north of Cheonhwangsan Mountain (Miryang, Gyeongsangnam-do), Eoreumgol Valley (Ice Valley) sits at an elevation between 600 and 750m and covers an area of 29,752m². Designated as Natural Monument No.224, the valley is unusual in that it begins to freeze in March when the weather becomes warm and thaws in the fall when the weather becomes cold. In the winter, the valley generates warm breezes and the water rarely freezes. Because of these unique attributes, the valley is considered one of the Four Mysteries in Miryang and attracts visitors from early summer through fall.Other notable ice valleys in Korea include Binggye Gyegok in Uiseong (Gyeongsangbuk-do), Punghyeol Naengcheon in Yanghwa Village (Jinan, Jeollabuk-do), and Aircongul in Nari Plain (Ulleungdo Island).

Cool Summer Festival

TAEAN F Festival

Taean F Festival is a flower festival held annually in the Sinon-ri area in Nam-myeon. During the festival, various cultural events and flower markets are held against the backdrop of beautiful flowers. Taean F Festival holds a themed festival for each season: tulips in spring, lilies in summer, lights in winter, and autumn flowers in fall. During the lily festival in summer, the venue is covered with lilies in shades of white, yellow, plum and red. The lake in the middle of the venue will be decorated in the theme of “Byeoljubu” (traditional Korean story of the Turtle and the Rabbit). There will be rabbit village to the left, a tortoise village to the right, and a character village on the perimeter of the venue. Hands-on programs such as feeding animals, making cookies, making soap bubbles, and making masks and face painting are also available.

Jikjisa Temple Stay

Jikjisa, located in Hwangak Mountain, Daehang-myeon, Gimcheon-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, has a temple stay program which offers an opportunity for busy urbanites to relax and have some quality time for themselves. The temple stay includes learning temple etiquette, yebul (Buddhist service), 108 prostrations, talks with a monk, lecture on Buddhist culture, chamseon (Zen meditation), and barugongyang (formal monastic meal). Gaudo Island
