Daegu Art Museum

Daegu Art Museum is a municipal museum supported by the Daegu Municipal Government. The museum holds exhibitions to promote Daegu's art advancement through the study of the art's historical value. The museum also has planned exhibitions introducing the social and artistic issues of the times and the leading trends in the art scene through domestic and overseas exchanges. Diverse performances and events such as academic programs and lectures with famous professors are offered to children, teens and citizens of all ages. Kooksoondang Joohyangro

Joohyangro, literally meaning ‘a path of alcoholic flavor,’ is the name of the tour route around Kooksoondang Hoengseong Factory. The traditional liquor produced by the factory captures the clean air & water and the sincere devotion of its producers. The factory is located along the banks of the Jucheongang River. Legend has it that long ago as a Confucian scholar neared the river, he was surprised to see his empty glass suddenly brimming with clear, delicious alcohol.

Munsusanseong Fortress
Gyeonggi-do(Gimpo-si)

The fortress on Munsusan Mountain (문수산, 376m) was built in 1694, the 20th year of the reign of King Sukjong, the 19th king of the Joseon Dynasty, to defend Gwanghwado, particularly from marine invasion. The fortress walls span 6km in length, 4km of which remain un-restored. Surrounded by beautiful scenery, the top of the fortress commands a spectacular view spanning from North Korea to the Hangang River inlet, and from Samgaksan Mountain to the sea off Incheon in the distance. It can be called Geumgangsan Mountain in Gimpo as it boasts superb scenery throughout all four seasons. (For all Koreans, Geumgangsan Mountain in North Korea symbolizes a ‘beautiful mountain’)

Goesiri Traditional Village
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Yeongdeok-gun)

A walk along Songcheon Stream from Daejin Beach to Yeonghae-eup brings visitors to Yeongdeok Goesi-ri Traditional Village. The village is the birthplace of ‘Mokeun Yisaek’, a Confucianist in the late Goryeo Dynasty. For over four centuries, the Nam family from the Yeongyang region has lived in this village where there are over thirty 200-year-old homes. The place demonstrates the traditions and culture of generations of Koreans. Goesi-ri Traditional Village, famous for its history experience course, has a number of designated cultural sites including a family house for the Nams from Yeongyang Goesi faction. The place is visited by not just tourists but by many history scholars as the village preserves the housing structure of the noble family of late Joseon Dynasty in Gyeongsangbuk-do province. The village also holds ‘Mokeun Culture Festival’ every two years.
