Opened on February 23, 2007 as a branch museum of Busan Marine Natural History Museum, Busan Fishing Village Folk Museum displays cultural artifacts and materials related to tradition, history and folklore of Busan's fishing culture and development. There are cornelian cherry trees and apricot flowers in the front yard, which is visible from the room through the window. All the corners of the house and even the drain are carefully designed not to harm the design of the house. Different from other beaches, Mongdol Beach is covered with black, round rocks instead of the usual white sands, but the more popular beach of the area is Hakdong Mongdol Beach. Due to this unique characteristic, many beach-goers visit during the summer seasons. There are also many well-known restaurants in the area, one of those being the Hansol Raw Fish Restaurant. A stationery next to the restaurant comes to sight first, as the restaurant is small in size, located on the side of the street with a Sea Squirt Bibimbap specialty that is to die for. The restaurant's clean and cozy interior holds over 10 tables, designed to remind one of a beautifully picturesque countryside. One of their most popular dishes is the Haemul-doenjang-jjigae, a stew made with soybean paste and plentiful amounts of fresh seafood. Hansol also possesses an aquarium full of red snappers and flatfishes, which make up the ingredients for their delicious Hoe-deopbap.


Jeollanam-do(Haenam-gun)

Jeonju Sikdang is a noted restaurant for Haenam folk cuisine. It was designated by the Korean Traditional Culture Preservation Society after getting many awards, such as special culinary award, and others. The main items on the menu are pyogo-jeongol (mushroom hot pot) and sanchae-jeongsik (set menu with seasoned wild vegetables). The pyogo-jeongol's ingredients are all prepared in house using organic shitake mushrooms, beef, Manila clams, and other seafood and vegetables, giving it a clean and rich taste. The theme of the restaurant, “Enjoying natural dishes in the mountains,” fits perfectly with the taste of their pyogo (mushroom), which carries a excellent taste without the addition of any artificial seasoning. To taste more of the menu, try their dongdongju (traditional Korean liquor), one of their famous items.
