Tamjingang River
Jeollanam-do(Jangheung-gun)

Tamjingang River, 56km long in total, is one of the major three rivers (Yeongsangang, Seomjingang and Tamjingang) of Jeollanam-do Province area that crosses through the center of Jangheung-eup, passing Busan-myeon. It was formerly known as Yeyanggang River, but then later named Tamjingang after residents of Tamrado Island (now Jejudo Island) sailed down the river for the first time. At each river bend is a time-honored pavilion for taking a quality rest and enjoying the gentle breeze from the river. There are a dozen in total. The scenic beauty of the crystal clear water of the river stands complements the lush forest rocky areas of the mountains nearby.

All rooms have refrigerators, electric kettles, nightstands, dressing tables, hangers, toiletries, and hairdryers, which are kept clean and fresh through a daily cleaning service. Moreover, Most Stay offers pickup services for up to six people when requested during the reservation process, as well as baggage storage, concierge, and English and Chinese services. A free breakfast, which consists of toast, cereal, and beverages, is laid out on the second floor every morning.

Jeonju Sikdang is a noted restaurant for Haenam folk cuisine. It was designated by the Korean Traditional Culture Preservation Society after getting many awards, such as special culinary award, and others. The main items on the menu are pyogo-jeongol (mushroom hot pot) and sanchae-jeongsik (set menu with seasoned wild vegetables). The pyogo-jeongol's ingredients are all prepared in house using organic shitake mushrooms, beef, Manila clams, and other seafood and vegetables, giving it a clean and rich taste. The theme of the restaurant, “Enjoying natural dishes in the mountains,” fits perfectly with the taste of their pyogo (mushroom), which carries a excellent taste without the addition of any artificial seasoning. To taste more of the menu, try their dongdongju (traditional Korean liquor), one of their famous items.

Chorakdang offers Hanbang Tours (Oriental medicine tours) designed especially for foreigners, that last for one-night and two-days. Guests will receive health consultations, hwangto face packs (made from yellow earth), medicinal herb baths, as well as meals and teas made from various medicinal herbs. In addition, there is a 2-night/3-day course where guests will be taken on a tour of Gyeongju with the Oriental medicine experience. Reservations for all tours must be made by phone at least 3 to 4 days in advance (please note the resort is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays).
