Jeollanam-do(Haenam-gun)

Jeonju Sikdang is a noted restaurant for Haenam folk cuisine. It was designated by the Korean Traditional Culture Preservation Society after getting many awards, such as special culinary award, and others. The main items on the menu are pyogo-jeongol (mushroom hot pot) and sanchae-jeongsik (set menu with seasoned wild vegetables). The pyogo-jeongol's ingredients are all prepared in house using organic shitake mushrooms, beef, Manila clams, and other seafood and vegetables, giving it a clean and rich taste. The theme of the restaurant, “Enjoying natural dishes in the mountains,” fits perfectly with the taste of their pyogo (mushroom), which carries a excellent taste without the addition of any artificial seasoning. To taste more of the menu, try their dongdongju (traditional Korean liquor), one of their famous items.

Jeollanam-do(Boseong-gun)

Ganggol village is one of the few remaining Hanok villages from the Joseon Dynasty that has maintained its original look. Most of the houses in the village were built by the Gwangju Lee Clan after the 19th century. About 30 houses stand closely together with Obongsan Mountain located behind the village. Old cherry blossom, magnolia, and pomegranate trees stand throughout the village, protecting the houses. Stone walls between the houses are covered with ivy and bamboo. With all the scenery, the village retains the atmosphere of a typical Korean old town. In the Ganggol Village Experience Program, participants spend a night at the traditional Hanok village where Koreans actually lived during the Joseon Dynasty to experience the lifestyle of the old days (using conventional toilets and getting water from a well, etc.). In addition, during the cherry blossom blooming period, participants also have the chance to experience into the beauty of cherry blossoms at the Cherry Blossom Café at Deungnyang Train Station. From spring through early autumn, participants are surrounded by the beautiful scenery and scent of the misty Boseong green tea fields at dawn. Chungcheongnam-do(Buyeo-gun)

Buyeo Naseong, also known as the Outer City Wall, was built to protect the capital of Baekje, Sabi. It has a x_height of about 84km. The wall surrouned Busosanseong Fortress and extended to the city of Buyeo. The wall is one of the oldest walls along with Naseong in Pyeongyang and it is estimated to have been built around 538, when the Baekje capital was changed from Woonjin (current, Gongju) to Sabi (current, Buyeo). The wall of the fortress starts from the site where Dongmun (East gate) was located to the area of Geumgang River, made by piling soil up. However, only a few traces remain of it's former glory. For now, it leaves a blurry trail including a 20m area to the east of Cheongsanseong Fortress, Dongmun Bridge from Seokmok-ri, and an area from Pilseobong Peak to Yeomchang-ri. While the outer wall is sharply sloped, the inner wall was built with a gentle slope to make it easier for horses to reach the guard posts on the top of the wall. Inside the fortress, the palace of Baekje, government offices, houses, temples, stores and protected facilities can be seen. The entire structure of Naseong Fortress features Geumgang River in the south and west sides, providing a natural double-defense system. The wall was one of the important outer defense facilities along with Cheongsanseong and Cheongmasanseong Fortresses. * Area: 554,591㎡

Jeollabuk-do(Jinan-gun)

Uniram Baniram Valley (5km long) falls between Myeongdeokbong Peak and Myeongdobong Peak in the northeastern region of Mount Unjangsan. The name Uniram refers to the steep walls of the valley where nothing but the sky, rocks, thick forests, and clouds can be seen. The valley is also befittingly named Baniram since it is so deep that it only receives direct sunlight for half the day. There are many strangely-shaped rocks like Jjokduri Rock, Cheollyeop Rock, and Daebul Rock scattered throughout the lush valley. At the peak of summer, the area is crowded with vacationers and is also popular for its autumn leaves.
