Gangwon-do(Inje-gun)

Baekundong Valley flows 5km from the valley of Mt. Deoktaesan and Mt. Seongaksan. There are oak trees and maple trees growing in thick clusters and clean waters flowing nearby. Baekundong Valley stands between the seven brother stones and Yongdam Waterfall, and starting from this point to Gwuiddegicheong Peak is Baekundong Valley. The rocks are connected in a long line and ponds can be seen here and there. On each sides of the valley there are rock walls, which make for some unforgettable scenery. Baekundong Valley maintains its natural beauty and majesty, which attracts many mountain climbers. Especially from the middle point where Jikbaekun and Gokbaekun combine to the Gugok Valley the most magnificent scenery of Baekundong Valley can be seen. The largest waterfall of Baekundong Valley, called Baekun Waterfall, is about 30 meters high. The upper part of the waterfall has rocks lined up in a long line. The landscape of Mt. Seoraksan seen from here is the representative natural scenery of Mt.Seoraksan.


Gangwon-do(Goseong-gun)

After the TV miniseries Gaeul Donghwa (Autumn in My Heart) was filmed, many people come to visit this old abandoned elementary school to get a better feeling about the drama. Actually, the school is the studio of the famous potter Jeong Jae-Nam who is also the wife of the renowned novelist Kim Ha-In. If you ever visit this small school in Gangwon-do, you can experience a sophisticated cultural atmosphere filled with books and pottery in harmony with the lingering sentiment of Gaeul Donghwa (Autumn in My Heart). You can take a tour around the school or even make your own pottery.


Gangwon-do(Pyeongchang-gun)

Located in Pyeongchang-gun of Gwangwon-do Province, Baengnyong Cave is a 1.8㎞-long, natural limestone cave. Its entrance, located 10-15㎞ above sea level, is surrounded by rocks and was once accessible only by boat. In 1976, local residents expanded a small lane in the middle of the main corridor to allow easier exploration. Alongside Donggang River, the cave harbors mysteries of the past 500 million years including a piano-shaped stalactite, a huge stone pillar, and a stalagmite looking just like a fried egg. The cave was designated as Natural Monument No. 260 in 1979, and it also opened Baengnyong Cave Eco Experience Center in 2010. Visitors may also venture out to nearby tourist sites for trekking, rafting, and studying nature at Donggang Fresh Water Fish Center.


Gangwon-do(Chuncheon-si)

The Rainbow Island Music & Camping Festival is held In Namiseom Island. The festival will star a number of musicians of different genres, including several DJ crews. Visitors can enjoy the music while they camp outdoors in the beautiful Namiseom Island.


Gangwon-do(Hoengseong-gun)

Hyungdai Sungwoo Resort in Gangwondo Hoengseong-gun is a year-round recreational complex located 540m above sea level, an altitude that is said to be ideal for the functioning of human biorhythms. Gangwon-do(Hongcheon-gun)

Located in Odaesan National Park, Sambong Recreational Forest (삼봉자연휴양림) is filled with large acicular trees like fir and broad-leaved trees like birch. Lenoks, a species of fresh-water fish that are considered a Korean natural treasure, found only in the cleanest water, thrive in the waters of the deep valley running through the park. The park is surrounded by three peaks – Gachilbong (1,240m), Mt. Eungboksan (1,155m), and Sasambong (1,107m). In the middle of the area surrounded by the three peaks, rests the Sambong Mineral Spring (삼봉약수), whose waters attract many visitors. The spring’s waters are said to ease stomach complaints. The park is also popular since visitors can go leaf peeking in autumn while enjoying the mountains and sea at the same time in summer.  


Gangwon-do(Pyeongchang-gun)

Gangwon-do(Cheorwon-gun)

Cheorwon Peace Observatory offers a panoramic view of the DMZ (Demilitarized Zone separating North and South Korea) in the central forward area of Cheorwon-gun, Gangwon-do. From this observatory, one can see the Cheorwon plain, areas of the DMZ, and even North Korea. Photos of the 2nd Infiltration Tunnel, military barracks, checkpoints, and the DMZ are exhibited here. Visitors can easily get to the observatory using the 50-person monorail, see the remains of the ancient Taebongguk (nation), and even see the faces of North Korean soldiers through binoculars.
