Gangwon-do(Inje-gun)

한국문학사의 대표적 시인이자 불교의 대선사, 민족운동가로 일제 강점기 암흑시대 겨레의 가슴에 영원히 꺼지지 않을 민족혼을 불어 넣어 주신 만해 한용운 선생의 문학성과 자유사상, 진보사상, 민족사상을 높이 기리고 선양하기 위한 실천의 장으로 설립되었다. The Manhae Village was estabished as a training center, in memory of the national activist Manhae Han Yongun, revered for his literary and philosophical inspiration to the people. The property is organized into five buildings including the Manhae Literature Museum and the House of the Literary Man. This facility has a lodging capacity for up to 400 trainees or guests in 47 rooms. A number of other facilities complete this training institution including the School of Manhae which accommodates up to 250, the former debate venue of Simujang temple and Seowon Bojeon Hall for hands-on experience and practices. Reservations are open to private and group guests by phone and the internet. Nearby tourist destinations include the Manhae Village, Mt. Seoraksan National Park and Naerincheon rafting area among others.


Gangwon-do(Jeongseon-gun)

The birthplace of Jeongseon Arirang, Jeongseon. After the coal mining rationalizing business, floating population travelling Joengseon to the metropolitan area has been dramatically decreased and so did the population at Jeongseon. All the stations in Jeongseon Line have now operates with no station employee reside in and Jeongseon station is the only one with a station staff, maintaining its existence. After Korea started to have a day off on Saturday, the birthplace of Jeongseon Arirang has been a popular touristic place. Especially in every summer, tourists from all over the country flock to this town for Jeongseon’s Market day It has been a must-see spot for students or customers using Rail-Ro.


Gangwon-do(Yangyang-gun)

Yangyang International Airport, located in Dongho-ri, Sonyang-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Gangwon-do, is the only international airport in the Yeongdong region. The airport excellently serves as the arrival point for tourists to Korea’s representative attractions of Gangwon, Seoraksan Mountain and Donghae. The airport provides much information in regards to tourism in the Yeongdong region in addition to offering a tourism transportation service.As there are no mountains nearby and the strong winds from the ocean blow away any fog, Yangyang International Airport serves as a substitute airport for nearby Sokcho Airport, which has a 30% cancellation rate, and Gangneung Airport, which has a limited runway. The airport is equipped with a control tower, and the Korean Peninsula Energy Development Organization (KEDO) is planning on building a North-South direction passage, connecting Yangyang International Airport with Seondeok Airport in the Hamgyeongnam-do region of North Korea in accordance with the North-South Passage Protocol of 1997.


Gangwon-do(Pyeongchang-gun)

Established in 1974, the Great Mountains Sky Ranch has a 40-year-old history with a huge ranch of 900 million (=three times the size of Yeouido in Seoul). Currently, about 400 Holstein cows are breeded along with a hundred of hanu (Korean Cow) in a environmentally friendly way. The ranch boasts itself in producing first-class 1,400 tons of crude oil  per year as well as top quality hanu. The environment is well preserved and most of areas are remained intact from human touch that can bring your best nature ranch experience.


Gangwon-do(Chuncheon-si)

Chuncheon National Museum is hosting the Seollal Traditional & Cultural Event to celebrate Seollal (Lunar New Year’s Day) in Korea. The museum offers traditional cultural activities that can help visitors remember the meaning of these Korean holidays. The event will be held in the front plaza, central hall, and at the auditorium with various programs including movie screening for family, play for children, etc.


Gangwon-do(Hoengseong-gun)

Wonju Airport is located in Hoengseong-eup of Gangwon-do. It began as a military airfield in 1975. In January 1993, in an effort to promote the opening of the Civil Aviation, official construction began in November 1995. In February of 1997, it opened its door with Korean Air Co. Ltd. flying in and out of the city. The maximum number of aircraft movements that the airport can accommodate per year is about 115,000, numbering more than 450,000 passengers. The hangar can fit one B737 aircraft. There are about 90 parking spaces available in the parking lot. ​


Gangwon-do(Gangneung-si)

Commemorating the event of PyeongChang 2018 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games and G-2 (Game-2; two years before PyeongChang 2018 Olympics), Hello PyeongChang Winter Festival will be held from February 4 to 6 around Gangneung Dano Park with various programs including an opening ceremony with performances by K-POP singers, cultural and arts groups, traditional performances themed on Gangwon-do traditional culture, World DJ festival, cultural art performance by EATOF (East Asia Inter-Regional Tourism Forum), and professional arts groups’ performances. Reservation for the festival is available through the official website. Individual foreign guests are also able to make a reservation for the festival. In addition to the pre-welcoming ceremony, PyeongChang Connected Test Events will be held with Jeongseon Alpine Ski Contest, PyeongChang Bogwang Snowboard Contest and Pyeongchang Freestyle Ski Contest. Other festivals in Gwangwon-do including PyeongChang Winter Music Festival, (Feb 25-28, Alpensia and Yongpyong), Daegwallyeong Snow Festival (Jan 15-Feb 10, areas of Hoenggye-ri, Daegwallyeong-myeon) and PyeongChang Godeureum Festival (Jan 15-24, Areas of No.2 bridge of Joyanggang River, Jeongseon-eup) will offer more of the winter atmosphere to visitors.


Gangwon-do(Jeongseon-gun)

Lasvegas Motel, located in Sabuk-myeon, Jeongseon-gun, Gangwon-do Province, is a four-story building boasting a refreshing view of the nearby forest from each of its rooms. Guests can get to Kwangwon Land and High1 Ski Resort within 5 minutes by car and reach Byeongbangchi Observatory in 30 minutes. Rafting along the Joyanggang River is recommended. Gangwon-do(Yeongwol-gun)

Yeongwol Station finished its construction in June, 1955 with its titled roof a nod to the region where King Danjong was from. The station was selected as one of the most beautiful stations in Korea due to its antique ambience.


Gangwon-do(Pyeongchang-gun)

At an altitude of 1,577 m above sea level, Gyebangsan Mountain, which faces Odaesan Mountain on the eastern part of the Taebaeksan Mountain Range, is the fifth tallest mountain in South Korea, after Hallasan Mountain, Jirisan Mountain, Seoraksan Mountain, and Deogyusan Mountain. On the west side of Gyebangsan Mountain is Unduryeong (1,089 m), of which has vehicle accessible road. Asiatic black beers are said to habitate in the deep valleys on the north side, and there is Bangadari mineral water and other mineral water sources on the south side. With many varieties of herbs and wild flowers growing naturally in the area, it is also well known as a place to dig for wild ginseng. It's rare Japanese yew trees and royal azalea combined with it's similar terrain to Seoraksan Mountain's Daecheongbong Peak has caused the mountain to be a highly protected ecological environment.Gyebangsan Mountain is particularly popular for winter hikers, who can get beautiful views of the snowy landscapes of the mountain even until March. On top of that, since the difference in evelation from Unduryeong to the top of Gyebangsan is only 488 m, it welcomes even novice hikers as well. From the summit, one can see the backboone of Baekdudaegan Mountain, and with its panoramic views of Seoraksan Mountain to the north, Odaesan Mountain and Daegwallyeong to the east, and Taegisan and Hoegisan Mountains to the west, it is one of the best views in the area.
