Bongnae Waterfall

Bongnae Waterfall is three-tiered with a x_height of 25 meters. The flowing, cool water brings a slight chill to the area surrounding the falls, especially in summer. As a major tourist attraction, Bongnae Waterfall is also the only source of drinking water for residents in Ulleung-eup. Most of the water used in restaurants and inns in Ulleung-eup come from Bongnae Waterfall.Two sites near the falls are well worth visiting: Punghyeol (natural air vents from which cool subterranean air blows) and the Forest Retreat. Punghyeol is located between Jeodong-ri and Bongnae Waterfall. During the peak of summer, chilly winds of about 4 Degrees Celsius blow from the rock openings and is often known as the “natural air-conditioner”. Next to Punghyeol is a thick forest of cedar, which makes a wonderful vacation spot during summertime.※ Note: This area is restricted due to unexpected incidents of landfall. Winners of the underwater race and the quiz show will receive local specialty products as prizes. Homigot Sunrise Festival

Homigot, the main venue of the Homigot Sunrise Festival, is located on the easternmost point of the Korean Peninsula. Homigot means ‘village on a tiger’s tale’ and is also the location for the first sunrises in Korea.The festival includes local cultural performances, a New Year celebratory event, fire show, sunrise concert and other diverse performances. Visitors may sample free tteokguk, a traditional New Year’s Day dish, during the special event of ‘Serving tteokguk for 10,000’. Other events such as kite-flying and launching hope balloons with wishes attached will provide enjoyable moments to reflect on the previous year and create new year resolutions.

Andong School of Korean Etiquette, which is located in Andong, is a Mecca of Korean traditional Confucian culture and provides an opportunity to experience and be coached in Korea traditional etiquette. Daeyasan Yongchu Valley

Yongchu Gyegok Valley is located in Mt. Daeyasan and it is the unique place where the water does not dry up throughout the year. Mt. Daeyasan, which is located in Wanjang-ri, Gaeun-eup, Mungyeong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do, is formed of sharp peaks and all different types of Giamgoeseok, and the waters that flow through the valleys do so all year long. It borders Chungbuk Goesan-gun and Gyeongbuk Mungyeong-si, and is located in Mt. Daeyasan (931m). The three-tiered Yongchu Pokpo Waterfall, located in Yongchu Gyegok Valley, is a legendary pace where two female dragons flew up to the sky. Yongchu Gyegok Valley is divided into Upper Yongchu and Lower Yongchu. The place where the water falls out of the granite foundation down to where the heart-shaped pond is, is Upper Yongchu, and below that point is Lower Yongchu. On either side of Yongchu, there are two large markings on the granite boulders, which are said to be dragon scale markings, made as they rose up to the sky. Even when other places are suffering from droughts, water flows abundantly here. Above the Yongchu Waterfall, past the base rock about 20 minutes away, you will reach Wolyeongdae. It was named after its breathtaking view of the moon reflected on the water flowing through the rocks in the valley below. Near Yongchu Gyegok Valley there is the Seonyudong Gyegok Valley, also called Seonyu Gyegok (a place of 9 sceneries) where the Okgyesu River runs through two great rocks, which look as if it is artificially split.
