A Window of Asian Culture Facing the World The Asia Culture Center (ACC) is an international arts and cultural exchange organization that produces new, future-oriented results through the convergence of Asia’s past and present arts and culture with innovative ideas and beliefs. Having the context of artistically sublimating the significance of the May 18th Democratic Movement’s human rights and peace as its point of departure, the ACC, which opened in November 2015, is a Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism–affiliated institution established for the advancement of mutual understanding and cooperative growth with different Asian countries through exchange, education, research, and other efforts with regard to Asian culture. The ACC plays the role of an integrated platform for participants from Asia and the rest of the world to freely unite and exchange their ideas while transcending boundaries in carrying out the steps of research, creation, and production. At the ACC, diverse and dynamic programs (exhibitions, performances, education, festivals, and other events) using collected research data, resources, etc., are held year-round with the creative output of experts from various fields who have exchanged their creativity and ingenuity with one another.

With its main branch located in Hongdae, Sobok is an ice cream shop that focuses on naturalism. The shop’s interior is designed with shades of white, presenting a light and neat atmosphere overall. Bingsu (shaved ice) and ice cream made of natural ingredients like rice and unpolished rice are served in unique plating.


Gyeongsangbuk-do(Gyeongju-si)

Located in Gyeongju-si, Gyeongju Gyochon Village is a hanok village that allows visitors a look inside life of famous the Choi Clan. Visitors can see the House of the Gyeongju Choi Clan (Important Folklore Material No. 27) and try some Gyeongju Gyodong Beopju Liquor (Important Intangible Cultural Asset No. 86-3) inside the village.

Lexington Hotel is New York-themed hotel named after Lexington Avenue, one of the three major streets of New York City. Connecting Upper Manhattan and Lower Manhattan, Lexington Avenue is known for famous locations such as Broadway, Times Square, Chinatown, and Little Tokyo. Located in the center of Yeouido, considered the ‘Manhattan of Seoul,’ Lexington Hotel is in close proximity to the Han River, the National Assembly Building, broadcasting agencies and the Korea Stock Exchange and is 20 minutes from the Gimpo International Airport. The hotel recently underwent renovations, upgrading its 235 guestrooms and subsidiary facilities to allow guests an even more comfortable stay. Various sections of the hotel are themed after attractions found along Lexington Avenue in New York. At "Times Square" (the hotel lobby) guests can receive information about the hotel or assistance from the staff. For a little bit of down time, guests can stop by “Broadway,” the lobby lounge, for a cup of coffee or head to the “New York New York” steakhouse for a family dinner or small gathering. The Chinese restaurant "China Town" and Japanese restaurant "Little Tokyo" are also popular for their well prepared dishes and quality service. The New York theme continues even in the "Yanks & Metz," a classic sports bar decorated with sports paraphernalia from Babe Ruth and other MLB stars.

The Appenzeller Noble Memorial Museum opened in 2008 in the East Hall of the Pai Chai Institute, a Western-style educational institution built in 1916. The museum building is designated Seoul Monument No. 16. With dynamically-arranged permanent exhibitions, annual special exhibitions and special lectures, the museum offers a unique learning experience to visitors and people with an interest in the history of education in Korea.

This restaurant has been famous for its charcoal-grilled food since 1972, and is especially well known for its spicy seasoning made from powdered red pepper, garlic, and ginger. Pork is mixed with the seasoning, giving it the characteristic red color and unique flavor, and then grilled over hot coals. While it is popular among Koreans who like spicy food, it might be a bit too hot for foreign customers. Other dishes include jumulleok (grilled seasoned meat) and donggeurangttaeng (meat patties). Jumulleok is made by seasoning fresh meat, whereas donggeurangttaeng is made by cutting the frozen meat into small pieces, and then marinating it. Older adults usually prefer jumulleok, while the young prefer donggeurangttaeng. TIP: Make sure to wear one of the aprons, which is next to each table, to protect your clothing while you are grilling the meat.  


Gangwon-do(Chuncheon-si)

Skywalk has gained attention as a new tourist attraction in uiamho lake of Chuncheon. Located in the middle point of the bike paths and scenic observation deck, the sky walk is a great place for taking pictures. Skywalk is a round shaped deck soared about 12 meters in x_height from the surface of the water. It also has a transparent floor and hand railings, which makes a thrilling experience as you will feel like you are walking on the sky while having the feeling of falling into water!

This is a traditional Korean restaurant serving food in attractive bowls. Its main dishes are steamed rice in bamboo and raw rice wine (Makgeolli). When you pour makgeolli into a glass which is brewed in the old way, your nose gets ticklish because of the smell of yeast. This is a specialty restaurant of fresh swellfish dishes that have been loved by customers for the past 35 years. Crispy, moist radishes and leeks, and the taste of soup made from sea tangle are memorable. This place gets quite busy during the winter so it is better to make reservations in advance.
