Jeollabuk-do(Jeonju-si)

Chimyeongjasan is a sacred site for those of the Catholic faith and a famous pilgrimage attraction in the southeastern region of Jeonju. Perched upon a steep ridge of Seungamsan Mountain behind Hanbyeokdang Pavilion, the area is the final resting place of well-known Catholic couple Yu Jung-cheol (John), Yi Sun-I (Rugalda), who vowed to remained virgins for all eternity. Situated upon the couple’s grave is “Miracle Rock,” a naturally formed rock that is said to be shaped like Jesus and the Virgin Mary. The site is also home to a 4-meter-high stone cross that can be seen from as far away as Hanbyeokdang Pavilion.The 200-meter prayer hike named “The Golgotha Way of the Cross” is one of the most popular pilgrimage routes for Catholics visiting the mountain area. Leading up from the parking lot and Monmartre Square (rest place), the entire path to the summit is strewn with flowers, making the prayer walk an ideal place for a stroll and some quiet meditation.


Gyeongsangbuk-do(Gyeongju-si)

The K Gyeongju Hotel was opened by the Korean Teachers' Credit Union. Situated against the serene backdrop of Bomun Lake in the historic city of Gyeongju, the hotel offers a large-sized meeting room, and a sauna, boasting 100% alkalinity thermal water spewed from underground of a depth of 630m. Gyeonggi-do(Guri-si) , Guri

Built on a 4,990-㎡ site in Acheon-dong Wuminae, Guri-si, Goguryeo Blacksmith Village has a Goguryeo steel mill, Malgal/Georan Tribe steel mill structures, the house of a Geomul Village chief, and a Mongolian village. It cost about 2.2 billion won to construct the set. Designed as an ecological space built mostly with stone and wood, it is the only Goguryeo blacksmith village in Korea and boasts Korea’s largest water mill and brick oven. It resembles an actual blacksmith’s shop, as water falls from a water mill with a seven-meter diameter, and the brick oven is two stories tall.Scenes of the daily life of Goguryeo citizens inTaewangsasingi (Legend) were filmed here, including scenes of the blacksmith village. Once the filming of Taewangsasingi (Legend) is completed, it will be transformed into Korea’s first Goguryeo Folk Village. An exhibition hall displaying ancient ironware culture will be built. The site will be open to the public after December, once filming is completed.


Chungcheongnam-do(Asan-si)

Located in a tourist spot famous for its hot spring, ING Motel is a good place to enjoy a spa, as it is just five minutes from Onyang Oncheon Station. At 58 degrees, the water at Onyang spa was a favorite place for kings over many generations. The water also has good alkaline quality. As for nearby tourist attractions, there is Hyeonchungsa, where incense is always burning to cherish the virtue of Chungmugong Yi Sun Shin, and Onyang Folk Museum, which is has a rich legacy of ancestors and folk history.
