Ho Lee Chow - Itaewon Branch

Ho Lee Chow was established in 1998 at a small shop in the streets of Itaewon.  At Ho Lee Chow, visitors can enjoy various Chinese dishes that were once only available in Chinatown. There is a wide variety: main dishes such as stir-fried noodles, stir-fried seafood, and fried rice, as well as dim sum. Most are quickly cooked in a Chinese pan called a wok.

Tongyeong Sebyeonggwan Hall

Sebyeonggwan Hall, located in Tongyeong, Gyeongsangnam-do Province, was established in 1605 by the 6 generation commander-in-chief Lee Kyung-jun and is well known as one of the widest buildings of the Joseon Dynasty Period along with Gyeonghoeru Pavilion in Gyeongbokgung Palace and Jinnamgwan Hall in Yoesu-si.Sebyoenggwan Hall is placed at the foot of Yeohwangsan Mountain and overlooks Tongyeong. Right next to the hall, are the remains of the naval base Tongjeyeong, which includes Unjudang (also named as Jeseungdang, a military education center for the Joseon Navy) among others.Sebyeonggwan Hall symbolizes the ending of the war, the washing away and cleaning up of the weapons of war.

Buan Cine Theme Park

Buan Cine Theme Park is a large film production complex in Gyeokpo-ri, Byeonsan-myeon, Buan-gun measuring a total of 148,400 square meters in area. The park is comprised of a two main sections: a folk village (89,696 m²) and an indoor studio called Sunset Village (58,704m²). Inside the folk village, Korea’s representative royal palace (Gyeongbokgung Palace) has been recreated along with traditional houses of the noble class, village schools, traditional streets, a pond, a fortress, and more. The park became famous after serving as the main filming location for popular Korean movies “The King and The Clown” (2005), “Hwang Jin-yi” (2007), and “The Sword With No Name” (2009).

Bastille Day

FKCCI Bastille Day event is one of the chamber’s biggest annual events. Bastille Day is the name given in English-speaking countries to the French National Day, which is celebrated on the 14th of July every year. In France, it is formally called La Fête Nationale (The National Celebration) and commonly le Quatorze Juillet. This cultural event represents the anniversary of the storming of the Bastille fortress-prison, which is seen as a symbol of the end of the constitutional monarchy that preceded the First Republic during the French Revolution. Festivities in France begin with a big parade held on the morning of July 14th on the Champs-Élysées avenue in Paris, which is attended by the president of france and broadcast on television. Other programs include a VIP garden party at the Elysée and the final bouquet of fireworks all around the Eiffel Tower. In celebration of this national holiday, the French Korean Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Embassy of France in Korea organize an annual party. The result is a festival of over 500 people celebrating Bastille Day in a joyful and vibrant atmosphere. It is a day for people of all ages to come and enjoy France and French culture in Korea. It is also called “Cheongna Eunghaeng Maeul” (청라 은행 마을) and “Green Rural Tourism Village” (녹색농촌체험마을). Upon entering the village, murals can be seen, which are enhanced by ginkgo trees throughout the village, particularly in autumn when they change a dazzling yellow. The village uses Janghyeon Elementary School, which closed in 1991, as a market place and local experience venue. Permanent hands-on programs and seasonal countryside activities, making a mosaic with ginkgo leaves, and shaking and gathering ginkgo leaves are also available. ​
