Arts Council Korea is to host 2016 ARKO Contemporary Orchestra Music Festival for Yangak (Western music) on January 26, 2016 at 20:00 at Concert Hall of Seoul Arts Center, lead by Choi Suyeol and played by Gyeonggi Philharmonic Orchestra. ARKO Contemporary Orchestra Music Festival (a.k.a. Achangje) tries to find up-to-date art pieces reflecting Korean composer’s innovative creativity and plays a big role in creative Korean music. First performed through Achangje, the performances are again performed at other locations nationally and internationally, including European countries.These music pieces are sure to be cherished for many years by audiences. Gyeonggi-do(Gwangju-si) , Namyangju

Paldangho (팔당호), a man-made lake, lies beside the towns of Toechon-myeon and Namjong-myeon, in Gwangju, Gyeonggi-do Province. Completed in 1973, this reservoir stores approximately 250 million tons of water, which is supplied to the Seoul and Gyeonggi regions. It is also one of Gwangju’s tourist attractions, offering an inspiring view and a scenic lakeside drive. Don’t miss a stop at the Paldang Observatory for a breathtaking view of Paldangho Lake.


Gyeonggi-do(Yeoncheon-gun)

The Jeongok-ri Prehistoric Site (전곡리 선사유적지), is a prime site on the Korean peninsula for the study of Paleolithic relics, and was unearthed after the discovery of a stone implement by an American soldier who was visiting an amusement park near Hantangang River in the winter of 1978. It was identified as an Acheulean Paleolithic stone implement by an expert, and gained the attention of experts from around the world. The Jeongok-ri Prehistoric Site is situated on a basalt deposit that was likely formed during the Precambrian era. More than 3,000 relics have been discovered, allowing extensive Paleolithic research not only by Korean, but also international experts. The Jeongok-ri Prehistoric Site also maintains a Paleolithic Relics Hall, an archive, and other facilities for visitors. There are also outdoor sculptures that represent daily life during the Paleolithic era, erected with the intent of preserving the natural aesthetic. Together, the facilities and sculptures aid our understanding of the Paleolithic era.


Gyeonggi-do(Icheon-si)

Located about 40 minutes from Seoul, Jisan Maple Condo is a 4-storey condo-style hotel consisting of 55 guest rooms. Seoul(Jongno-gu) , Insadong・Jongnon

The National Folk Museum of Korea will host an event in celebration of Chuseok (Korean Thanksgiving Day), featuring abundant hands-on programs, exhibitions, and performance perfect for enjoying Chuseok with full of joy. The event prepares 44 different programs including seasonal customs, folk games, traditional art programs, various folk performances and more, to make a special and memorable Chuseok holiday.


Gangwon-do(Yeongwol-gun)

Chosun Minhwa Museum finished construction in 1998, in Waseok-ri, Gimsatga-myeon, Yeongwol-gun, Gangwon-do and opened on July 29, 2000. The museum contains about 3,000 folk paintings (minhwa) from the Joseon era and is comprised of a hands-on program hall where visitors can paint a minhwa on a wood plate and the chunhwa (obscene painting) exhibition which is eligible for only adults. In addition to this museum, Gimsatgat Culture Hall and Indian Art Museum are also in Yeongwol.


Incheon(Seo-gu)

The Carlton Motel is located in Cheongna District of Seo-gu, Incheon, which is fast becoming the center of Northeast Asia and gateway to the wider world. Gyeongsangnam-do(Namhae-gun)

Sinbulsan County Park is located in parts of the Sangbuk and Samnam districts of Ulju (County). The massive area encompasses 11.66 square km and is home to one of the most impressive peaks in the Yeongnam mountain range found in the southeast of Korea. The park’s hiking trails interconnect with those of neighboring Gangwolsan and Yeongchwisan Mountains and attract a large number of hikers year-round. Near the peak of Silbulsan Mountain sits a fortress with breathtaking views of silver grass. Water starts high above the clouds at Danjobong Peak and trickles down through streams and waterfalls to join the deep mountain valleys. One of the better known attractions in Silbulsan Mountain is Hongryu Falls which offers impressive views from its gentle cliffs. Also nearby the mountain are Deungeok Hot Springs and a number of restaurants for hikers to visit and enjoy after a full day on the mountain.
