Incheon(Ganghwa-gun) , Ganghwado Island

Jeollanam-do(Yeosu-si)

Dolsando is the seventh largest island in Korea and is connected to the mainland via Dolsan Bridge. Located beneath Dolsan Bridge is a life-sized model of a Geobukseon (Turtle Ship), which played an important role in the Korean Navy’s victories during the Imjinwaeran War (1592-1598). Visitors will also find plenty of seafood restaurants lining the paved coastal road.


Chungcheongbuk-do(Cheongju-si)

Munui Cultural Properties Site offers overlooks of Daecheongho Lake. Attracting many visitors, the place was created to preserve and promote the local traditional culture of Cheongwon (Chungcheongbuk-do); it is a great place to learn about local history, culture, and arts.The spacious complex (132,232m2) is home to ten traditional houses (Munsangwan, houses by aristocrats, a museum, and a tavern), showing a form of a traditional village. It is also full of dolmens, stones (symbolizing abundant procreation), Jangseung (totem poles at the entrance of villages or temples), and Yeonjabanga (millstones worked by horses or oxen), providing visitors with opportunities to learn about traditional culture and life.With the theme of roof tiles, a relics gallery in the complex boasts over 774 local items, categorized in each historical period (e.g. the Silla Period, Baekje Period, etc.). Munsan-ri Stone Bridge, believed to have been built during the Goryeo Period, was restored in front of the gallery.The complex also offers a wide array of amenities including mineral spring sites, playgrounds, and Munui Movie Village (a drive-in movie theater in the parking lot). Nearby notable attractions include Artificial Falls, Yangseongsan Mountain, Jakdusan Mountain, Daecheongho Lake, Nosan Pine Forest, Donghwasa Temple, and Bugang Mineral Springs. 


Seoul(Jongno-gu) , Daehangno・Seongbukdong

Gyeongsangbuk-do(Andong-si)

This hanok was built by Ryu Jin-geol, also known by his pen name Suae, in 1939. It is located beside the head household of the Sugok Clan who were part of the Jeonju Ryu family. When you enter the lofty, 5-kan*-high gate, you will find 3 buildings that measure 29 kans in total. Suaedang House has a gabled-roof, and is composed of a 7-by-2-kan residential area, and a 10-kan shed, which are situated together in a ㄱ-shape. The hanok was used as an ancestral memorial hall, and later designated as the 56th Cultural Relic of Gyeongsangbuk-do. It has been well preserved, as it was built with sturdy pine usually found in the Chunyang region. The patterns on the lattice doors have peculiar shapes, and the house as a whole faithfully embodies the architectural technique of the late Joseon Dynasty. Jeollanam-do(Muan-gun)

Muan is the largest habitat of the White Lotus flower in Asia, spanning 330,000m2 in size. While most lotus flowers are pink, the lotus flowers in Muan are snow white, which is very rare. During the Muan White Lotus Festival festival, visitors can enjoy a landscape filled with white lotus flowers and lotus-themed activities. Festival Guide: The festival starts with a celebration parade. Visitors can enjoy exhibits about lotus flowers and the history of lotus medicine, as well as a photo exhibit and hands-on programs. Activities include making handcrafts with the seeds of lotus flowers, natural dyeing using lotus flowers, making lotus soup, cooking lotus-wrapped rice and more. Different kinds of lotus can be observed at the natural learning garden of water plants, which is on the way to the venue. Festival Hightlights: The highlight of the Muan White Lotus Festival is a boat ride where you can get a nice view of the lotus flowers. Exploring the lotus road on the water is like a jungle adventure. Visitors also can try traditional dishes of Muan and special fragrant foods made from lotus, such as lotus ice cream, lotus shakes, lotus sandwiches, lotus noodles, and lotus-wrapped rice.

Cheongoksan Mountain (1,276m) is located to the southeast of Manggyeongdae on Taebaeksan Mountain. The hiking course goes along the ridge of the mountain from Neutjae in Socheon-myeon and winds past Hongjesa Temple, which (according to rumors) is where the great Buddhist monk Samyeong underwent spiritual training. Nearby is Baekcheon Valley, which has been designated Natural Monument No. 74, since it is the southernmost natural habitat of the cherry salmon. Also located in the vicinity are Goseon Valley (home to a huge primeval forest) and Cheongoksan Recreational Forest, which includes various leisure facilities such as a water park, work-out center, campgrounds, lodges, and more.
