E-World Starlight Festival

Introduction E-World Starlight Festival is held with ten million lights in an area of 120,000 pyeong around E-World and 83 Tower. Hot-air balloons, roses, and masks light decorations and other events will catch people’s eyes at this carnival-like festival. The events start at night and large characteristic trees are decorated along the 200m Light Road, as well as a Umbrella Road, Carnival Road, and photo zone created by 1,000 lights. Also, 10,000 LED roses cover the proposal stairs, creating a romantic and special ambience. This festival is beloved by young couples as part of a night dating course. Swieoganeun Nugak is located by the valley stream of Seseok, which serenades guests with the gentle cadence of flowing water. The idea behind Jeju Eco Suites was created by a husband-and-wife team of tour guide and painter. Its wooden buildings are surrounded by grass fields, giving the Suites an exotic feel of being in a forest vacation home. Like its name, Eco Suites uses solar power extensively to provide outdoor lighting and heating, while up-cycled trash bins and flower pots made out of old paint tins demonstrate the potent mixture of artistic creativity and environmental awareness that characterizes the rest of the Suites. There are 10 rooms in total, including the Deluxe Suite, Jacuzzi Suite, and Spaville Building. The interior is decorated with the same elegant and comfortable touch. All rooms are furnished with living rooms and comfortable sofas, wide terraces, and fully-equipped kitchens, which help to make the stay just like home. The two Spaville Buildings, which come in 45-pyeong (150m2) and 75-pyeong (250m2) varieties, are highly popular among visitors who prefer privacy. All rooms accommodate travelers with dogs, while the lobby offers a suite of toys for children. Other amenities like free barbecue grill for rental, free laundry facilities, and free breakfast (for guests staying longer than 2 nights) show that the team is truly attentive to the comfort of the guests. From November to January, it also allows guests to experience the mandarin orange harvests in the nearby field. Tourist attractions like the Jungmun Tourist Complex or the Jungmun Beach are located about 7 to 10-minute drive away.

Seorae Village (서래마을)

Seorae Village is located in between Banpo4-dong and Bangbaebun-dong in Seochu-gu, Seoul. Past the Banpo Bridge of Sapyeong-ro road and Palace Hotel along Seorae-ro road and you can see a cluster of luxurious villas. This was the former location of Ecole Francaise de Seoul, a French school for the France residents who resided here in 1985. There are about 1,000 French citizens residing in Korea (as of 2008 statistics) and about half of them are living in this area. Thus, Seorae Village naturally became a global village much thanks to the strong presence of French citizens in this area. Furthermore, situated geographically near Gangnam and the central business district area, along with natural sites including Yangjae stream and Hangang River Park, makes it a pleasant environment space for all. Every morning, long lines of cyclists with their bikes can be seen waiting in front of the bakery to buy the freshly baked baguettes. The traditional French bakery makes bread from ingredients that are directly imported from France and thus been a favorite to any French residents living in Korea. The shops in Seorae Village shops are modest and charming. The street is lined with shops and small restaurants, seeming to have been lifted straight out of Europe. In recent year, Seorae Village has undergone several changes. In every other street found here, a luxurious café and wine bar can be found and if you like to enjoy your meal outdoors, several cafes or restaurants with balcony seats are also available. This is currently one of the most popular areas among the locals and it has a nickname of ‘Little France’.

Guleopdo Island

Recently, the government announced its plan to designate part of Guleopdo Island as a natural monument. This island, located to the southwest of Deokjeokdo Island in Incheon, is indeed a beautiful island, boasting unique coastal landscape formed by strong tides, waves, and wind. Though there are numerous islands near Deokjeokdo, Guleopdo Island boasts such splendid beauty that it is said to be unmatched by any of the other islands in the West Sea. The island has been the dream of resort developers for years. The north beach of Guleopdo, Seondanyeo (near Baekado) and Jaraseom boast oddly-formed rocks and an exquisite coastal landscape. It’s a prime spot for fishing enthusiasts and is known for its abundance of flatfish, rock trout, and soft clams. Just fifteen minutes to the west of the dock facility in Guleopdo is Mokgimi Beach (a costal sand dune) that has a unique elephant-shape because of the rocks that were carried there by strong waves. Other rocks have fallen down from the nearby cliffs. Along the coast, there is also a beautiful white sandy beach that stretches over 600m. Not well-known to tourists as of yet, this beach is a great spot to enjoy calm, relaxed summer vacations.
