Gyeongsangbuk-do(Gyeongju-si)

Housed in the Culinary School of Korea History and Culture in Gyeongju, the Laseonjae restaurant serves unique culinary delights that recreate the cuisine served in the royal courts of the Silla Kingdom. The school has a well-established reputation as a culinary institution that excels in preserving the taste and cooking styles of the past. Laseonjae was opened with the goal of promoting Isageum, the Silla-style course meal that the school developed after many years of research.The Isageum table consists of various dishes served in the royal court of Silla: the dishes are made of 9 rare, medicinal ingredients called gujinmi. The interior of Raseonjae is decorated mostly in gold, the color that defines the Silla Kingdom. Note the columns with lotus leaf patterns and other characteristics unique to banquet halls from the Silla royal court. Daejeon(Yuseong-gu)

The name ‘Spapia’ is a combination of the words ‘spa’ and ‘utopia.’ The sulfur hot springs in the Daejeon area started to gain attention around the end of the Baekje Dynasty. Hot spring water used at Spapia is brought up from 20-400m underground and contains around 60 different minerals, void of heavy metal content. The water quality is of such high quality and is so well-known for its wonderful health benefits that even Taejong and Taejo, kings from the Joseon Dynasty, visited the hot springs. Hotel Spapia is located in Daejeon Yuseong-gu Bongmyeong-dong (Yusung Hot Spring Tourism District). Opened in October 2007, National Institute of Biological Resources has the largest collection preservation facilities in Asia. The institute collects, preserves, manages, and conducts research on biological resources with the aim of growing into a biological resource hub of North East Asia.The institute is comprised of the spine-shaped collections and research centers and the leaf-shaped exhibition and education centers. The exhibition hall has 3,905 specimens of 1,287 native species on display. Korea's diverse ecosystems are recreated as highly detailed dioramas at the exhibition hall. A small restaurant is located inside the research center, and the extensive grass field in front of the institute provides an ideal picnic spot.


Busan(Haeundae-gu)

Charmsori Gramophone & Edison Science Museum founded by Son Seongmok is the largest gramophone museum in the world. It has a collection of 4,500 phonographs, 150,000 phonograph records, 1,000 books, and 5,000 items from 20 nations.1) World of Sound: The place for history of Sound. It displays gothic and renaissance organs, music boxes, radios and record players.2) World of Image: The place for silent films and biography films of masterminds and Edison. It displays Edison projectors and televisions, especially one made by Baird, John Logie (1888.8.13 ~ 1946.6.14) in 1925.3) World of Light: Displays items from Gas lamps to the original light bulb that Edison made, an electric generator of those days, the bamboo filament light bulb and the first wall-attached electric lamp. The wall-attached electric lamp is the part of the collection that was successfully accepted at Sotheby's auction in 1992.4) Edison Invention Hall: Displays 850 inventions of Edison's, including t three of his greatest inventions - phonographs, light bulbs and projectors. Seoul(Eunpyeong-gu)

Bukhansan Mountain was officially designated as a national park in 1983. The Bukhansan National Park covers both Bukhansan and Dobongsan Mountains, and spans the total area of 80.699㎢. At the top of Bukhansan Mountain are Baegundae Terrace (836.5m), Insubong Peak (810.5m) and Mangyeongdae Terrace (799.5m), which gave the mountain the nickname "Samgaksan" or the "three-horned mountain". The mountain had other names: Sambongsan (mountain with three peaks), Hwasan (flower mountain), and Buaak (mountain shaped like a person giving a baby a piggyback ride). The current name, Bukhansan, was given as the Bukhansanseong Fortress was built under King Sukjong of Joseon Dynasty.
