Gangguan Port Geobukseon Ship
Gyeongsangnam-do(Tongyeong-si)

Gangguan Port Geobukseon is life-size reconstruction of a Geobukseon ship constructed by the South Korean Navy and commissioned by the Seoul Metropolitan Government to commemorate the patriotic spirit of Admiral Chungmugong Lee Sun-Sin. The 2.2-billion-won project was completed in the downstream area of the Hangang River (part of the DMZ), which previously had limited public access. After that, the area was opened to the public for the first time in 52 years (since the division of the peninsula) to allow the Geobukseon Ship to travel from Hangang Park to Tongyeong-si. If you go up to Daegwallyeong Observatory early in the morning, you can witness the spectacular sunrise from the East Sea beyond the peaks of Odaesan Mountain. The lake where cows drink water is called Samjeongho Lake. In order to get around this grand ranch, you should take a car or bicycle. By car, it will take about 2 hours while bicycles will take about 5~6 hours. It would be too much to try to walk the entire ranch.

The Story of Admiral Yi Sun-shin

If you avoid battles to preserve your life, you will die." - Nanjung Ilgi (War Diary of Admiral Yi Sun-shin) One of the best naval commanders Korea has ever known, a statue of Yi Sun-shin was installed at Gwanghwamun Square before King Sejong the Great to celebrate the 465 anniversary of his birth. On April 28, 2010, The Story of Admiral Yi Sun-shin was opened in the basement of Sejong Center to commemorate his life and accomplishments. Located next to The Story of King Sejong, the exhibit is divided into 8 experience zones further focused on 12 themes related to Admiral Yi's life, ranging from determination and devotion to loyalty of country and countrymen. The museum uses the latest in digital technology to bring this great hero to life. Another great attraction to the museum is the turtle war-ship made famous by Admiral Yi shrunk down to 55% of the real size. Despite the down-size, the ship is still big enough for guests to board and row the oars, with a digital display of the ocean waves playing on moniters all around for a fun 4-D experience.

Hankuk Art Museum

The Hankuk Art Museum first opened its door to the public in May 1983 in Gahoedong and was later moved to its current location. Focusing on modern art and the promotion of Korean art, the gallery presents special displays and open-run exhibitions mainly featuring artwork such as Western and Korean paintings, pottery, sculpture, photos, and tapestries.The gallery is comprised of five exhibition halls including indoor and outdoor sculpture exhibition halls. Da Vinci Museum
