Gyeongsangnam-do(Gimhae-si)

The Gaya Culture Festival is a historical and cultural festival of Gimhae-si, whose long history and tradition is based on the Geumgwan Gaya, a leading power among the six Gaya groups. The festival is well known at home and abroad.King Kim Suro founded Gaya in A.D. 42 and married Heo Hwang-ok, a princess from the Indian country of Ayuta, in A.D. 48. This was the first known international marriage in the history of the Korean Peninsula. Gaya was quite advanced in the production of earthenware and iron implements, and traded with neighboring countries like China, Nakrang, and Japan. It thrived as a center of international exchange in Northeast Asia, and its culture was also remarkably developed.Gimhae, the birthplace of the Gaya culture, has a long history and unique culture. Through the Gaya Culture Festival, the region is continuing to preserve, build on, and develop the Gaya culture and heritage. The Gaya Culture Festival asserts Gaya’s rightful place alongside the Goguryeo, Baekje, and Silla kingdoms.


Gyeonggi-do(Pocheon-si) , Pocheon

Situated in Pocheon (Gyeonggi-do), the Hangaone facility consists of the Hangwa Culture Museum and the Hangwa Cultural Education Center. Visitors can tour the museum and participate in making Hangwa (traditional Korean confectionery). After the experience program, visitors can even taste hangwa, along with a selection of traditional teas.The Hangwa Culture Museum is the first museum in Korea to have a theme centered on traditional Korean sweets. Its first floor exhibits the history of hangwa, tools used to make it, and the various types (Yakgwa, Yugwa, Yumilgwa, Jeongwa, Dasik, and Gangjeong), while the second floor offers seasonal hangwa, hangwa with tea, hangwa areas in Pocheon, information from hangwa experts, and tourism information on Pocheon. The education center runs colorful hands-on programs offering visitors an opportunity to make hangwa and also learn about traditional tea culture. 


Gangwon-do(Pyeongchang-gun)

Bongpyeong Market opens on days with '2' and '7' with the interval of five days.  One can imagine as the protagonist in the famous novel by Lee Hyo-seok 'When the Buckwheat Blossoms' as he or she goes through the market. Recently, memil without fail, has been the top product in the market. From Memil Mak-guksu (buckwheat noodles), Memil-buchim (buckwheat pancake), Memil-jeonbyeong (buckwheat crepe), Memil-Jjinbbang (buckwheat steamed bun), Tojong Memil-Sundae, Memil Guksu-Jeongol (buckwheat noodles hotpot), Memil Namu Bibimbap and more, a variety of buckwheat-related foods can be found in this market.


Chungcheongbuk-do(Chungju-si)

This festival showcases all of the world’s martial arts forms, as well as Korea’s traditional martial arts. This festival opens with the theme 'World's Martial Arts and Culture', showcasing demonstrations of Taekkyeon, Taekwondo, and Hapkido by Korea’s traditional martial arts groups. Martial artists from 16 nations have been invited to the festival, and will be taking part in demonstrations and performances. Programs have been prepared for non-Korean speakers and visitors will get a chance to try out many of the martial arts on display.


Gyeongsangbuk-do(Gyeongju-si)

Seoul 365 Fashion Show is a project presented by Seoul Metropolitan Government and the community. Streets of Seoul transform into runways and people of Seoul gather as models to showcase a variety of stylish outfits. Seoul 365 Fashion Show aims to close the gap between fashion and the general public by encouraging the community to actively participate and enjoy this multi-cultural fashion project. The fashion show also contributes in creating job opportunities by supporting over 100 youths who dream to become a model. Candidates selected to model for Seoul 365 Fashion Show receive professional model training and will be able to explore diverse career opportunities.


Gangwon-do(Jeongseon-gun)

Hwaam Cave (화암동굴) used to be a gold mine that was commercially operated from 1922 to 1945. The nation’s 5th largest goldmine was, however, found to have natural stalactites, and later the cave was developed as the only theme-based cave that combined gold and nature. The stalactite area is an open space of 2,800㎡ and the length of the path open to visitors is 1,803 meters. The entire area consists of 5 chapters, which in turn constitute 41 zones; it takes about an hour and a half to see all of the zones. You can travel to the entrance of Hwaam Cave on Korea’s first cave monorail listening to the soft pipe-in music of Jeongseon Arirang. Hwaam Cave is not only a tourist attraction but also an educational venue where you can learn a lot about the subterranean ecology of a stalactite-lined cave and the process of gold mining/refining.* Five ChaptersChapter 1. History: The processes used in the development of the Cheonpo Goldmine are demonstrated. Also, actual gold veins, excavating facilities and other mining traces have been preserved for tourists.Chapter 2. 365 Steps to Gold: The 90-meter high natural cave that connects the upper and lower shafts is now connected by 365 steps, and you can enjoy cave flowers and wall craters/holes while walking down the steps.Chapter 3. Mysterious Mother Nature: The natural stalactite cave offers unembellished yet magnificent scenery with Asia’s largest stalactite cascade, huge stalagmites/stone pillars, a statue of the Virgin Mary, a statue of the Buddha, cave flowers and helictites. 


Chungcheongnam-do(Geumsan-gun)

Geumsan is home to 1,500 years of Korean ginseng cultivation. More than 80% of Korean ginseng is cultivated here. To spread the excellence of Korean (Geumsan) ginseng across the nation and the world, ginseng cultivation implements and models, efficacy, foods, and other products containing ginseng are on display in this museum. Visitors can also watch ginseng-related videos to gain a better understanding of Korean ginseng.


Busan(Seo-gu)
