Uiseong Sansuyu Flower Festival
Gyeongsangbuk-do(Uiseong-gun)

Sansuyu Village is the venue for the Uiseong Sansuyu Festival in Uiseong-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do. Every March, the village is gilded with the bright yellow of tens of thousands of sansuyu flowers. Visitors are sure to enjoy a joyful view of the sansuyu flowers both day and night, thanks to the street lights illuminating the beautiful yellow flowers.

Castle at Hwajinpo
Gangwon-do(Goseong-gun)

The villa of Kim Ilsung, former leader of North Korea, is perhaps better known as the Castle of Hwajinpo, for its fortress-like exterior. The villa was used as a summer house not only by the Kim family, but also by high-level members of the Communist Party from 1948 to 1950. The interior of the castle keeps history alive through a set-up of personal items and materials used by the Kim family. There is one photo in particular of a young Kim Jongil standing at the foot of the stairs that brings a sense of intimacy to this secretive family.

Gangneung Coffee Festival
Gangwon-do(Gangneung-si)

The Gangneung Coffee Festival held its first event in 2009 as part of project in making Gangneung, a city of coffee. The festival celebrates the emerging coffee culture of Gangneung-si, which in recent years has welcomed in famous coffee chains and artisan coffee shops. The festival celebrates the scenic city’s past and present culture with a variety of coffee-related events such as exhibitions, photo exhibitions, coffee-making and coffee bean-roasting experience programs. Coffee entrepreneurs can also sign up for onsite seminars about the coffee industry.

Baengnyeonsa Temple
Jeollabuk-do(Muju-gun)

Baengnyeonsa Temple is located in the upper part of Gucheondong Valley on Deogyusan Mountain. It is said that during the Silla Kingdom, a white lotus flower bloomed here, and that's why the temple is called Baengnyeonsa. Baengnyeonsa Temple is surrounded by Deogyusan Mountain and is a very elegant and quiet temple.After walking over the Baengnyeon Bridge at the entrance of the temple, you will come to a stone stairway. At the top is the main sanctuary. The majesty and beauty of the main sanctuary is well complemented by the mountains. The Mokjosamjonbul Stone Buddha within the main building is presumed to have been built in the latter half of the Joseon Dynasty. Past Myeongbujeon is Baengnyeonsa’s Sajeokbi tombstone, and the workmanship of the calligraphy carved on them are very highly regarded.Baengnyeonsa Temple is famous for the camellia trees that surround the temple. About 1,500 trees are growing here, and in the blooming season, the entire temple become one large flower garden. The Camellia trees are designated Natural Monument, and you really would want to see them in their full glory in the spring. It is especially beautiful during the fall with the crimson leaves as well.

Donggang River Rafting
Gangwon-do(Pyeongchang-gun)

Known as the last untouched region in Korea, Donggang River is the best rafting spot in Korea. Starting from Daegwallyeong and running through Jeongseon and Pyeonchang to Yeongwal, the river has numerous rafting courses that flow with an abundance of water and wind past scene after beautiful scene. Courses generally have steep cliffs on one side of the river and banks of pebbles or sand on the other. The most famous course is called ‘Eorayeon,’ a name which has the connotation of a pond with fish that come to the surface and make the river shine like silk. As Donggang’s representative course, the course is said to take rafters over the entirety of Donggang River. The course is so picturesque that many people forget to paddle and just float along and enjoy the scenery.

Sancheong Oriental Medicine Theme Park
Gyeongsangnam-do(Sancheong-gun)

Opened in May 2010, the Sancheong Oriental Medicine Theme Park is Korea's first hanbang (traditional oriental medicine) themed park. It is divided into five distinct sections, each representing one of five elements of the universe: wood, fire, earth, metal and water. As an environment-friendly facility, the theme park uses eco-friendly materials in its statues of mascots, memorials, as well as other subsidiary facilities. Also, it features natural hiking trails through the surrounding forest and valley, a wooden promenade, and a medicinal herb garden with ample rest areas. Moreover, visitors may check out the Oriental Medicine Museum located adjacent to the theme park.

CineCube

CineCube is famous for showing artistic films. Movies that are hard to find at other theaters are shown at CineCube. Those who are movie manias often come to this theater. The theater only has two screens, but it has been renovated and recreated to show off a fresh new atmosphere. Take a trip to the basement of CineCube and that can all be taken care of. You can find fusion restaurants, pasta, pizza, and convenience stores. Also, on the B2 floor there is a food court with many fast food restaurants.

Gapyeong Ewhawon Nabi Story

Located on Jaraseom Island, Gapyeong Ewhawon Garden was renewed in 2015, spanning over an area of 10,000 pyeong with a 330 pyeong butterfly ecology center, the largest butterfly park in the world. Visitors can look at various exhibitions and get to know about butterflies and plants with detailed explanations by professional guides. Dongmak Beach

The primary attraction on the coastal road is the shore line of Dongmak Beach connecting Janghwa-ri in the town of Hwado-myeon (located south of Ganghwado Island) with Dongmak-ri. Visitors can comfortably enjoy the sunset after parking their cars on the roadside or in the parking lot of a nearby restaurant. Another great spot to enjoy the sunset is the high ground of Buno-ri.
