Located on Jirisan Mountain, the Jirisan National Park was Korea's first designated national park. The Jirisan mountain range extends across five cities in three provinces: Gurye-gun in Jeollanam-do; Namwon-si in Jeollabuk-do; Hadong-gun, Sancheong-gun and Hamyang-gun in Gyeongsangnam-do.Jirisan Mountain has over 10 peaks including Nogodan (1,507m), Banyabong (1,732m), Jeseokbong (1,806m) and Cheonwangbong (1,915m), several valleys including Baemsagol and Chilseon, and waterfalls including Guryong, Buril, Yongchu and Chilseon Falls. The park is also home to such cultural assets as Hwaeomsa, Ssanggyesa and Daewonsa Temples.

The Hotel Miranda Swimming Pools

Chungnyeolsa Temple
Gyeongsangnam-do(Tongyeong-si)

Chungnyeolsa Temple was built by 7th Admiralty Commander Lee Un-nyong in 1606 upon the order of King Seonjo during his 39th year of rule in 1606. The temple, which was meant to commemorate Admiral Lee Sun-sin's loyalty and brilliant exploits, houses the memorial tablet of Admiral Lee. The temple has five gates: Naesammun, Jungmun, Oesammun, Jeongmun, and Hongsalmun. There are other significant structures inside the temple as well. Dongjae and Seojae, the place where food for ancestral rituals were prepared can be found inside Jungmun Gate. Located inside Oesammun Gate are Sungmudang (administrative office) and Gyeongchungjae (lecture hall). On both sides of the gate are six pavilions housing memorial tablets, including the tablet of Admiral Lee. Outside the gate are Ganghallu Pavilion and the exhibition hall. The sign with the words "忠烈祠" hanging on Jeongchim and Oesammun was written by Munjeonggong Song Sun-gil and bestowed by King Hyunjong. Hwangmaesan County Park

Located at the border between Gahoe-myeon and Daebyeong-myeon of Hapcheon, Hwangmaesan is a guardian mountain of Hapcheon but has not been popular and was hardly mentioned in hiking magazines or tourist maps. Thanks for that, the mountain has all the natural environment that has been kept untouched and undamaged. In 1983, the mountain was designated as the County Park and now, along with Gayasan, it is regarded as one of the most major mountains in Hapcheon. Hwangmaesan is beautiful during the spring season when royal azaleas are at their full blossom but the summer season when hills are covered with fresh greens or the fall when silver grasses cover the hills gloriously and even the snow flowers in the winter season are scenes not to be missed. Unlike other mountain tops, this one has a full open view so every seasonal changes are more truly experienced. It is convenient that there is a road that reaches to the top of the mountain but if time allows, hiking up to the top to see the magnificent view is recommended for visitors.

Hansan Ramie Fabric Cultural Festival

The region of Hansan-myeon is famous for producing ramie, one of the world’s oldest fabric crops. The Hansan Ramie Fabric Cultural Festival celebrates the high quality, luxury clothing that is produced from ramie fabric and which receives wide acclaim. Many people journey to this festival to see the beautiful clothes on display. One of the main events is a fashion show, and visitors will also have the opportunity to try on some of the clothes and even try out the fabric weaving process. The ramie crop is also used in making food, and at the festival visitors can try rice cakes, ice cream, tea and other refreshments all made from ramie. A must visit festival for all shopping and food aficionados.

Robo Life Museum

Imcheonggak House

Each of the buildings of Imcheonggak is built at a slightly different elevation on Yeongnamsan Mountain, providing each room with plenty of sunlight. The 7 guestrooms vary in size (the largest sleeping up to six people) and are located in different sections of the guesthouse grounds. The large room in the main building has a private bathroom and provides convenient access to the yard. The guesthouse, built with space efficiency in mind, is comprised of five big and small yards. As you pass through the main gate, you’ll see the main building to the left and a pavilion and pond to the right, just past the garden wall. Rising up from beside the pond is a small hill on top of which perches a small shrine.
