Chungcheongnam-do()

Gyeryong Military Culture Festival held in Gyeryong-si, Chungcheongnam-do where tri-service military is located, features one of the nation’s most representative festivals, attracting about 900,000 visitors each year. The festival is considered to be unique as it deals with a military culture. It offers fantastic air shows, various military gear experiences such as repel, military’s zip-line, helicopter, armored car, and other devices, as well as martial music performance, other cultural art performances and events for visitors. Simultaneously, the Army Festival is also held during the Gyeryong Military Culture Festival and thus, visitors can enjoy both festivals at the same time.


Jeollanam-do(Damyang-gun)

Chungcheongbuk-do(Boeun-gun)

Songnisan Mountain Maltijae, Songnisan Mountain gateway is a steep, zigzagging uphill path located 8km from Chungbuk Boeun in the direction of Songnisan. During the Joseon Dynasty (1392~1910) while Sejo King was climbing Songnisan Mountain he mounted a horse (mal) because of the mountain’s steep gradient, thus giving the mountain its name. Located here, Songnisan Maltijae Recreational Forest (속리산 말티재 자연휴양림) is harmoniously mingled with Jangjae reservoir creating a beautiful scene. It is a good place to experience nature.For its main facilities there are promenades, mountain paths, Water Parks, public kitchens, and for its lodging facilities there are Forest Cabins divided into 16 villages. Chungcheongnam-do(Boryeong-si)

With a mystical path cutting into the ocean and a beautiful site to watch the stunning sunset, Muchangpo Beach is one of the first man-made beaches on the western coastline.The beach has a x_width of about 50m and a length of 1.5 km. The depth of the water is about 1m~2m and the water remains at a pleasant 22 degrees Celsius. Along the gently sloping beach is a vast pine tree forest, providing a relaxing place to enjoy the fresh waters and cool shade.During the tides of the summer season, you can witness a miraculous phenomenon where a road seems to emerge from the depths of the ocean, similar to how Moses parted the Red Sea. This happens near the embankments of the beach that extend to about 1.5 km, and occurs only twice a year during the high tide season on the lunar calendar.Furthermore, about a 20-minute drive away, is the Daechun seaport where fresh and delicious seafood and cooked crab meals can be bought at a cheap price.The Mysterious Sea-Parting ExperienceAt the Muchang-po observation tower, which is located on top of a hill 50m away from the Muchang-po entrance, you can observe the spectacular view of the mysterious sea-parting phenomenon.The sea-parting phenomenon, which happens on the 15th and 30th of July on the Lunar Calendar, is accompanied by various activities such as the clam hunting and arm wrestling competitions, as well as traditional Korean folk games.


Gangwon-do(Yeongwol-gun)

The Donggang River flows through the Gangwon-do district, and is a tributary to the South Hangang River. The Donggang River spans an area of 60km from Jeongseon to Yeongwol. The Donggang River is a well-preserved river, left untouched due to the strong current of the waters and the rugged geography of the mountains. The Donggang River follows a snaky path splitting the chiseled cliffs surrounding it. Many tourists visit the area to see rare animals such as otters, Mandarin ducks, and Chinese scops owls and so on. Donggang River is also famous for white-water rafting.


Chungcheongbuk-do(Danyang-gun)

Danyanggang River Jando-gil Plank Road is a 1.12 kilometers long trekking road along Namhangang RIver. With an amazing view of the surroundings, the road is a must-walk when visiting Danyang. There are various attractions nearby including Mancheon-ha Skywalk and Suyanggae Light Tunnel offering tour, geology and history.


Chungcheongnam-do(Boryeong-si)

Daecheon is located along the westcoast of Chungcheongnam-do. Daecheon ("dae" means big and "cheon" means stream) was so called because of the large amount of water from the region that flows into the nearby sea. Daecheon is home to Daecheon Beach, the only shell-powder sand beach in Asia. It is also known for cosmetics made from the beach mud, fresh seafood, and tourist attractions such as Wonsando Island Beach, the Coal Museum, and Seongjusaji Temple Site. The station moved to its current location on December 21, 2007. The building's sailboat-shaped structure is symbolic of the region's history and reputation.


Chungcheongnam-do(Cheonan-si)

Gangwon-do(Samcheok-si)

Haegasa is a site named after the tale of 'Haega' in "The Heritage of the Three States." While the original Haegasa is assumed to be on Wausan Mountain at the northern end of Samcheok Beach, it has been restored on Jeusandong Beach against the backdrop of beautiful scenery. Located near Haegasa are Chuam Beach and Surobuin Park, which hosues the Dragon Ball, upon which people make their wishes.


Jeju-do(Seogwipo-si)

Songaksan Mountain is also called 99 Bong (99 Peaks) due to its 99 small peaks. The road from Sanbanggulsa Temple in Southern Jeju to Songaksan Mountain is a famous coastal drive with breathtaking scenic views. Though not as enormous as Hallasan Mountain, the view from the peak of Songaksan is truly scenic. From the summit, one can see nearby islands such as Marado, Gapado, and Hyeongjeseom, and as far as Hallasan Mountain and the Pacific Ocean.The main peak rises 104 meters above sea level. To the northwest of the main peak is an expansive prairie with several peaks. There is a crater about 500 meters in diameter and 80 meters in depth, with some blackish volcanic ash still remaining inside. Looking along the jagged coastline, one can spot the large man-made caves built during the Japanese occupation. The seashore at the base of Songaksan Mountain is a famous fishing ground and diverse fish such as sawedged perch and black porgy are caught here.
