Gyeongsangnam-do(Hapcheon-gun)

The Hapcheon Image Theme Park became a major tourist attraction after the release of Tae Guk Gi: The Brotherhood of War (2004), and has continued to increase in popularity following the filming of additional movies and dramas within the park. Well-known films and soap operas include Seoul 1945, Fighter in the Wind, Gyeongseong Scandals, Meeting Plaza, Dachimawa Lee, Modern Boy and East of Eden. The park is one of the largest film and television studio sets in Korea.The theme park is located in Gahori, Yongju-myeon (Hapcheon) and covers an area of over 231,406.00㎡. It is divided into two main sets separately owned by the major broadcasting companies KBS and MBC. The section owned by KBS houses reproductions of Seoul landmarks such as Seoul Station, Chosun Governor-General Office, and the Bando Hotel, as they appeared from the 1930s to the 1960s. MBC’s set focuses mainly on reproductions of streets from Sogong-dong, Seoul from the 1970s and 80s. A walk around this major filming location will transport visitors back into the Seoul of yore, a Seoul vastly different from the one people know and love today.After a set is used for a film or a soap opera, the City of Hapcheon remodels and displays it as a type of exhibit, chronicling the area’s anthropologic development. In the future, the city plans to expand exhibits to include a facility where visitors can view a collection of historic military pieces. 


Gyeongsangnam-do(Changwon-si)

Buljonggeori Road, where a huge bronze Buddhist temple bell sculpture is located, is lined with 23,000 blocks engraved with the names of foreigners. The colorful blocks on the ground consist not only of diverse names of international tourists, but also include the names of renowned Korean celebrities such as Jeon Ji-hyeon, f(x)’s Krystal Jung, 4Minute, Kara and other popular Korean stars.


Gyeongsangbuk-do(Yeongju-si)

Within these old houses you can take a look at the lifestyle of the classical scholars in Yeongju, who were engaged in diverse activities, acting as high-ranking officials.* Geomuguan (거무구안)– Kim Mun-gi’s House, Manjukjae House, Pavilion‘Geomuguan’ means forgoing comfort and convenience in life. Within these old buildings, you can witness the integrity and spirit of classical scholars who strove to live idyllic and pastoral lives while criticizing the petty focuses of society.* Udobulubin (우도불우빈)– Kim Se-gi’s House, Kim Roe-jin’s House, Jang Hwi-deok’s House, Lee Hu-nam’s House, Kim Gyu-jin’s House, Servants’ Quarters of Duam’s Old House‘Udobulubin’ refers to pursuing a faithful and upright life even in poverty. These old houses offer a glimpse at the humble and pure life of classical scholars who were not ashamed of being poor.


Gyeongsangnam-do(Geoje-si)

Halleyo Maritime National Park was designated as a National Park in 1968. It is composed of parts of the southern coast and Namhaedo Island and Geojedo Island of the southern coast. Hallyeo Maritime National Park is famous for Odongdo island, which is covered with camellias and subtropical plants, and boasts beautiful sunrises and sunsets over Haegeumgang of Geojedo, Bijindo Island – famous for its native plant, Palsonyi Tree. Hansan Island is especially important because this is the grounds where General Lee Sun-Shin won the Imjinwaeran (War by Japan’s invasion of Korea in 1592).Hallyeo Maritime National Park is well known for the beautiful sea, islands and pristine seashores. Since there are many sites to visit, many visitors come in summer on vacation, and others return in spring or autumn on excursion trips. Among these sites, Geoje Haegeumgang river and Oedo Island Marine Tourism Farm, also known as the Paradise of Korea, are highly popular tourist courses.


Gyeongsangnam-do(Tongyeong-si)

The Great Battle of Hansan (1592) is one of the four most famous sea battles in Korean history. Visitors to this festival, which celebrates the anniversary of the great event, will learn all about the battle while enjoying the beautiful natural scenery of Tongyeong.


Jeollanam-do(Mokpo-si)

In April, Yudalsan Mountain in the city of Mokpo is covered in blossoming spring flowers. At the Mokpo Yudalsan Mountain Flower Festival, visitors can unwind among the gorgeous spring flowers on the mountain while enjoying some fresh fish, a trademark of this relaxing port city.


Gyeonggi-do(Gapyeong-gun) , Namyangju

Located in Gapyeong-gun, Gyeonggi-do, Iris Hotel is a seven-story hotel on the banks of the Bukhangang River. The lobby is clean and luxurious and Namiseom Island can be seen nearby. Gyeonggi-do(Yangju-si) , Namyangju

The Lighting Museum, the only one of its kind, is dedicated to the art, culture and history of lighting. The 2-story museum is divided into several different sections: Traditional Lighting Hall, Modern Lighting Hall, Lighting Art Hall, Color & Lighting Experience Hall, and Lighting Art Experience Hall.


Gyeonggi-do(Siheung-si)

Gangwon-do(Yangyang-gun)

The Hajodae lookout sits along a cliff with an old pine tree and overlooks the East Sea. Legend has it the name Hajodae came from the first initials of Haryun and Jojun, two of the founding members of Joseon Dynasty who stayed nearby during one of their journeys. The place is also famous as a TV drama filming spot of Taejo Wanggeon. A walk along the cliff will lead to a white lighthouse near the overpass beside Hajodae. A number of tourists also visit Hajodae for the beautiful sunrisesand the beam of light from the lighthouse that appears when darkness falls.
