Gangwon-do(Goseong-gun)

The Korean War Experience Hall, located next to Unification Observatory, offers a view at the lessons learned through the tragedy of civil war and offers up the hopes for a peaceful reunification and harmony in the homeland. Jeju-do(Jeju-si) , Former Jeju

Located in the area of Doduhang Port, Jeju Dodu Oraemul Festival is the sole festival in the area, the theme of which is one of Jeju’s regional resources, “yongcheonsu" (spring water), also known as “dodu oraemul." The festival provides unique hands-on programs available only in Dodu-dong, as well as delicious food to enjoy and other entertaining activities for tourists and residents.


Gyeonggi-do(Gimpo-si)

Jangneung (장릉) is located in Gimpo, Gyeonggi-do province. This is the tomb of the posthumously designated king, King Wonjong (1580-1619), who was the father of King Injo, and of his wife, Queen Inheon (1578-1626).King Wonjong was the 5th son of King Seonjo. He had deep respect for his parents and a strong affection for his siblings. King Wonjong’s third son was exiled to Ganghwado Island under a false accusation and ended up committing suicide. King Wonjong was shocked at the tragic death of his son and died in 1619.The surroundings of the tomb have been well preserved and landscaped, so visitors can enjoy relaxing and walking in this area. Geunjeongsa Temple is located nearby. 


Gyeonggi-do(Suwon-si)

Hongcheon Ginkgo Forest is only open to the public during the month of October. This private forest was planted and has been maintained by one man for 30 years. He settled down in the area in 1985 with his wife who suffered from chronic indigestion. He started planting the ginkgo tree seeding on his spacious field after he heard about the medicinal effects of the mineral waters from Sambong Yaksu at the foot of Odaesan Mountain. The forest remained private until 2010, when its popularity spread by word of mouth. Since then, the owner has graciously agreed to open his private land up to the public for free during the month of October, when the whole forest takes on a golden hue.


Chungcheongbuk-do(Goesan-gun)

The Goesan Red Pepper Festival is held during harvest season to promote the excellence of peppers grown in Goesan, a major production area of Korea. The festival has numerous programs, including pepper-picking and fish-catching contest (using the bare hands), pepper recipe competition, pepper cooking contest, and garden pepper planting. Brightly colored and full of flavor, Korean peppers are a particularly popular agricultural product. This is a fun festival where visitors can taste or buy Korean peppers, and talk with farmers. During the festival, visitors can participate in various cultural events and exhibitions, and enjoy the spring scenery.
