Jeju-do(Jeju-si)

Jeoji Oreum is situated in Jeoji-ri, Hangyeong-myeon in Jeju-si. This parasitic cone rises 239 meters above sea level, is 100 meters high, and has a crater with a circumference of 800 meters and 62 meters deep. The crater is round and in the shape of a funnel. It is said that Jeoji Oreum is as old as Jeoji Village. It is also called Dakmoru or Sae Oreum. Nearby, there are Gamaechang Oreum and Heoritdang, showing just how long the history of Jeoji Village is. In the past, people harvested wild weeds from Jeoji Oreum to cover their thatched-roof houses. Over time, trees were planted and today, Jeoji Oreum is covered with a dense forest. The area has been designated a "Forest of Life" since June 2005. The Jeoji Oreum is the last point on Olle trail, Route 13.


Gyeonggi-do(Pocheon-si) , Pocheon

The Ildong Jaeil Oncheon is situated in the hot springs region of Pocheon-gun. The products on sale range from traditional motifs to modern designs, such as wine stand. The store also carries specialized Korean tourism products that make for great gifts or collector’s items. Located on the first floor of Daeil Building, Insa Gallery is part of the shopping mall “Insa Korea,” which houses a number of stores specializing in traditional products. Thus, when locating Insa Gallery, visitors might find the address alone confusing. First, enter the shopping mall and look straight ahead toward the end of the central hallway, and you will find the store filled with glittering mother-of-pearl lacquer products.

The Sunchang Fermented Sauce Festival is held every fall at Sunchang, a city of health and longevity. Sunchang hot pepper sauce, which used to be presented to the royal family in the Joseon Dynasty, is believed to have many health benefits, such as being beneficial in preventing cancer and obesity. As people have gotten more interested in their health and well-being, hot sauce has become an even greater part of the Korean diet.The venue of the festival is Hot Sauce Folk Village, a mecca of Sunchang Hot Sauce. There are a range of programs, including celebrity performances, percussion performances, madangnori, and making traditional hot sauce. Other events include Sunchang Specialty Exhibition (e.g. vegetables fermented in hot sauce, bokbunja liquor), Children’s Painting Contest, and photo exhibits. The festival’s crowning glory is the Sunchang traditional hot sauce competition, a must-see event.
