Jeollanam-do(Hampyeong-gun)

The Hampyeong Butterfly Festival offers visitors the opportunity to get a closer look at ecology, in particular the region’s butterflies. During the festival period, the whole town of Hampyeong is a “Happy and bountiful world with butterfly,” covered with butterfly-themed lights and decorations. A medley of butterfly-themed events and programs shed some lights on one of nature’s most beautiful and delicate creatures, all while providing fun for the whole family. In addition to numerous exhibition halls featuring butterflies, insects, and water plants, there is even a “hands-on” area where visitors can see and touch a variety of animals and plants! The festival is a great opportunity for children to learn about nature in a fun, interactive environment.


Daegu(Dong-gu)

The Daegu International Musical Festival (DIMF) is the only exclusive international musical festival in Korea. It aims at developing musical theater into an industry through which the beauty and joy of the arts can be appreciated by both international citizens and local residents. In pursuit of this dream, DIMF has made every effort to encourage domestically created musicals, nurture the upcoming musical generation, and reach new audiences. DIMF, despite being a relatively new cultural event of Daegu, has firmly established itself as a veritable marketplace where producers and directors can exchange ideas and experience a variety of new and diverse musical interpretations. DIMF is not only a stage for the performing arts, but also continues to develop in its role as a delightfully inspiring means of entertainment and recreation.


Chungcheongnam-do(Taean-gun)

Sandhill Pension has beautiful sunset on the sea. Located in the Sinduri Beach of Taean, Chungnam that has the largest sand hill in the world, Sandhill Pension has sandbeach in front of the pension and gentle beach just like other west coast. It is the best option for family tour with children. In winter time, it is so beautiful to see the waves breaking against the shore and the snow scene of the beach. The scene of the sea is seen from every room very closely, and you can have meal or enjoy BBQ at the outdoor table.


Jeollanam-do(Suncheon-si)

Created near the Juam Lake of Songgwang-myeon, Goindol Park (고인돌공원) is a relocation site for prehistoric excavations saving them from flooding when construction of the Juam Reservoir (주암저수지, 1984-1991) started. The park covers a land area of 18,000 pyeong. It’s a gathering place for all the dolmens and serves as an educational and leisure area. Some 140 pieces of dolmens are on display, along with prehistoric huts, homes from the Paleolithic age, dolmen models, sotdae (wooden poles) and menhirs, all exhibited outdoors. There is also an exhibition hall that displays the prehistoric relics excavated around the dolmen sites. Another exhibition hall on memorial services has a screening room and shows the evolution of memorial practices in the Jeollanam-do region. The entire area of the park is designated cultural asset material No.154 of Jeollanam-do.


Jeollabuk-do(Wanju-gun)

Wanju Wild Food Festival was recently selected as one of the top festivals in Korea by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Korea. The 3-day festival is held across the beautiful city of Wanju, a city where you can experience cheonryeop (fishing by hand) and the gorgeous Korean wilderness. The festival also provides environmentally-friendly food experiences using local agricultural products, along with various wild plants and animals from Wanju. This festival aims to give visitors a feeling of sentiment for food from the past through partaking in the diverse experiential food programs surrounded by the beautiful natural environment.

Gangwon-do(Chuncheon-si)

Tipped with strangely-shaped rocks and groves of old pine trees, Obongsan Mountain (779 meters) is brimming with natural beauty. Once called Gyeongunsan Mountain, it received its current name because of its five unique peaks (“obong” means five peaks). Visitors can enjoy hiking the rock ridges or cruising on the ferry around Soyangho Lake. At the base of the mountain on its southern side lies Cheongpyeongsa Temple, which was built in 973 the 24th year of the reign of King Gwangjong of Goryeo.
