Gyeonggi-do(Gwacheon-si)

Gwacheon Hanmadang Festival, held every fall, is a unique celebration embodying the unique spirit of the street art culture. The festival’s main events are a large selection of performances by various performance teams from home and abroad as well as other invited performers. Shows include street theatre, Madang plays, dance performances, circus acts, mimes, and street music, held in the open-air stages around Gwacheon City Hall. Favorite programs include: Festival Explore Program (an interactive program allowing spectators to experience the joy of street art) and Guest Performances from abroad (giving viewers a rare look at the culture of countries around the world). Besides street performances, there are hundreds of festivities visitors may enjoy including an ‘artist area’, academic events and a marketplace filled with delicacies.


Gyeongsangnam-do(Namhae-gun)

The youth hostel is located close to the mudflat where visitors can see marine life and participate in experience programs, such as clam digging and water sport activities.


Jeollanam-do(Mokpo-si)

Mokpo is a special zone for marine culture tourism. One of the main attractions is Yudalsan Mountain, on top of which one can get a panoramic view of the entire city of Mokpo. The mountain’s walking trails are known to both locals and tourists alike as a place for forest bathing. Samhakdo Island and Gatbawi Rock are also popular attractions. The annual Mokpo Maritime Cultural Festival is held on Samhakdo Island. Gatbawi is a rock formation shaped like a Korean hat. From Gatbawi Rock, there is a coastal trail that leads to Gatwabi Culture Street. The musical fountain at Pyeonghwa Plaza is located near Gatbawi Rock. The Mokpo Wholesale Fish Market is full of marine products. Street vendors line the sidewalks selling hongeo (skate), which is a local specialty. Tourists can reach Yudalsan Mountain, Samhakdo Island and the Mokpo Wholesale Fish Market on foot from Mokpo Station. The City Tour Bus departs from Mokpo Station and takes travelers to major tourist attractions in the city. Gyeongsangbuk-do(Andong-si)

It is a restaurant that sells delicious Jjimdak (steamed chicken) and seafood pancake. This Korean dishes restaurant is located in Andong-si, Gyeongsangbuk-do. The most famous menu is Andong braised chicken.

Gyeongsangbuk-do(Yeongdeok-gun)

Chilbosan Mountain Natural Recreation Forest is located near mountains and the sea. The observatory offers a great place to watch the sunrise over the East Sea and is particularly packed during New Year’s Day. Two trekking courses on Chilbosan Mountain and Deungunsan Mountain are opened for hiking lovers and a water park site which utilizes water from valley. Its regional festivals held in the area of Chilbosan Mountain Natural Recreation Forest are Yeongdeok Sunrise Festival, Yeongdeok Snow Crab Festival and more.


Gyeongsangbuk-do(Goryeong-gun)

Yangjeondong Rock Art (discovered in 1971) is a rock painting 3 meters high and 5.5 meters wide that vividly depicts the life and religion of the Prehistoric Age. Rock art from the time period was created on rocks or other planes considered to be sacred and usually carried a message of fertility. The artwork of Yangjeondong shows layered circles (symbolizing the sun and the moon), crosses (depicting the “life zone” of the tribe), and 17 masks. The artwork is considered to have been used for ceremonial purposes or farming events.


Gangwon-do(Cheorwon-gun)

DMZ Peace Train Music Festival aims to promote freedom and peace through music. The festival is held at Seoul and Cheorwon, Gangwon-do providing conferences, showcase, main concert and special programs. 


Chungcheongbuk-do(Chungju-si)

Located in Donsan-ri and Neungam-ri, Angseong-myeon, Chungju-si, Cheongcheongbuk-do, Angseong hot spring offers weak alkaline water coming from 700m deep underground. It is known to be effective for treating back pain, stiff shoulders, fatigue, and a cold constitution in addition to softening the skin.
