Located inside Namdaemun Market, Arirang Shopping has been featured on many websites overseas and is popular among international tourists. The best selling items at the store are Arirang seaweed, Chongga Foods Kimchi, and lacquerware inlaid with mother-of-pearl.In addition to its retail venture, Arirang Shopping offers pick-up services to guests staying at hotels in the Jung-gu, Gangnam-gu, Seocho-gu and Songpa-gu areas. Opened in 1973, Hamilton Hotel is a landmark in Seoul's international town of Itaewon. In addition to 166 guestrooms, the hotel has many dining and convenience facilities including a shopping center. Busan(Suyeong-gu)

Jeollabuk-do(Namwon-si)

The Namwon National Gugak Center envelops visitors in the enchanting world of Korean folk music, a genre known for its explicit beauty. Recruiting only the nation’s top performers in each discipline, the center offers a variety of regular folk performances such as musical plays, Pansori (epic stories told through song), folk songs, Gaya harp concerts, Samulnori, and more, representing all types of Korean traditional music.The center is located in Namwon, the birthplace of “Dongpyeonjae Pansori,” and offers a regular “Pansori Performance” through which visitors can hear the authentic melodies of Dongpyeonjae Pansori, handed down from generation to generation.In addition to performances, the center is home to a folk music reference room and a traditional Korean instrument gallery displaying approximately 60 different kinds of instruments along with pictures of famous performers. Among the instruments on display, of particular note are Gangneung Province’s “Sogu” (small drum) and the traditional Jeju folk instrument the “Muak.”Nearby attractions include Gwanghallu, a garden from the Joseon Dynasty (1392-1910) and Ojakgyo, the bridge from the epic love story of Gyeonwoo and Jiknyeo. Namwon is also famous as the setting of the ancient novel “Chunhyangjeon,” which is celebrated with Chunhyang, a folk festival that takes place each year on May 5th.


Seoul(Yongsan-gu) , Euljiro・Chungmuro・Namsan

Namsan Outdoor Botanical Garden opened its doors on February 18th, 1997 in Hannam-dong, where the residential complex for foreigners once stood before it was demolished in 1994. Covering an area of around 59m2, it is divided into 13 themed gardens with a total 117,132 plants from 269 species. Among this diversity, 60,912 plants from 129 species are tree types and 56,220 plants from 140 species are grass types. The 13 themed gardens include a garden of herbal medicine, apricot trees, wildflowers, royal azaleas, shrubs, commercial plants and a garden for the blind.


Seoul(Dongdaemun-gu) , The Eastern Part of the Seoul

As the nation began to recover from the aftermath of the Korean War, farmers from the northern Gyeonggi-do region and Ganwon-do gathered around the old Seongdong Station (renamed ‘Hansol Donguibogam’) to sell their produce and wares. The farmers’ impromptu gathering on the fallow farmland to make their transactions soon led to the birth of a new marketplace.Seoul Gyeongdong Market, a.k.a. ‘Gyeongdong Market’, is located around Jegi-dong, Yongdu-dong and Jeonnong-dong at Dongdaemun-gu and consists of the Gyeongdong Oriental Medicine Market, the Gyeongdong New Market, the Gyeongdong Old Market, the Gyeongdong Building, Hansol Donguibogam, and more.Currently, renovations are underway to reinvent the out-dated market environment into an updated shopping experience that still preserves the area’s innate charm. In 2004, Hansol Donguibogam was built and opened on the spot where the Midopa Department Store used to stand. Hanbang Cheonha, Donguibogam Tower-Tel and other areas are now undergoing renovations.


Gyeonggi-do(Paju-si) , DMZ•Panmunjeom

The 3rd Tunnel was discovered in 1978 by Korean forces. It spans over 1635m in length, 2m in x_width, and 2m in x_height and is located 52km from Seoul. It is estimated that approximately 30,000 soldiers could move through the tunnel per hour. Once the tunnel was found, North Koreans insisted it was intentionally made by the Southern army to invade North Korea, but, their insistence was proven untrue as the explosions used to make the tunnel face southward.The tunnel offers various sightseeing points such as the DMZ Video room, symbolic sculptures, a souvenir shop and more.


Seoul(Jung-gu) , Myeongdong

The city of Cheonan is famous for hodu-gwaja as the region has long been a major producer of hodu (walnut). The origin of hodu-gwaja can be traced back to when bread and baking was first introduced to Korea. From then on, hodu-gwaja became a popular tasty treat that is often bought as a present by those visiting Cheonan. This sweet snack is generally shaped like a walnut, with a sweet red bean filling and either a whole or half walnut inside. However, Cheonan Yennal Hodu-gwaja makes their hodu-gwaja in a slightly different way. Their 60-year-old recipe uses domestically processed wheat flour and peeled white beans for a smoother texture. On the 2nd floor, guests can make their seaweed (gim) purchases. Also on the 2nd floor is the Traditional Culture Experience Hall where international tourists can try on hanbok (traditional Korean clothes) and make spicy rice cakes and rice balls.
