The Yeoncheon Jeongok-ri Paleolithic Festival takes place in Jeongok-ri in Yeoncheon region, where relics of the Paleolithic era still exist. This festival is the first Paleolithic cultural event in Korea, and provides a great opportunity for international visitors to discover Korea’s prehistoric cultures. Moreover, this festival will be a great event for families, since children can learn about paleolithic cultures, farming village lifestyles, and take part in traditional cultural programs.

Anseong Namsadang Baudeogi Festival

Namsadang Baudeogi Festival, a popular culture and art festival, will be held in the hub of art and culture in Anseong. Since it first started in 2001, this festival has been promoting the preservation of the tradition of Namsadang (troupes of entertainers who traveled around the country). It also became the official festival of CIOFF (International Council of Organizations of Folklore Festivals and Folk Arts) in 2006.Based on the Namsadang Baudeogi, Anseong World Folkloriada (안성세계민속축전) is considered as the most successful festival ever, drawing seven hundred thousand visitors. In 2013, It has been renamed as the Anseong Namsadang Baudeogi Festival and will be held at Anseong Matchum Land.During the festival, visitors can look forward to parades, performances, hands-on activities, exhibitions and contests. Programs include a Baudeogi (leader of one of the best Namsadang groups) memorial ceremony, parades, an opening ceremony, special autumn events, guerilla performances, the Anseong citizen Beona dolligi (dish spinning), themed village and connecting farm village experience programs, etc.

International Horticulture Goyang Korea

First held in 1997, the Goyang International Flower Exhibition has attracted about over 5.7 million visitors thus far, including the 8th Flower Exhibition in 2014. The event is considered to be Korea’s representative international flower exhibition. This year’s festival will be taken place in Ilsan Lake Park in Goyang city from April to May with 320 related organizations, groups, and companies from 35 countries, to showcase flowers and various products made with flowers. Also, unique and rare plants exhibition, indoor garden decorated with flower art pieces, outdoor theme parks, making of flower plant experience, flower arrangement contests, as well as other cultural events and performances will be planned to add more joy to the flower festival.

Historical Korean Drama Festival

Paju Jangdan Soybean Festival

The theme of this festival is ‘soybeans’, a health food that has long been popular in Korea. In particular, the ‘Jangdan Soybeans’ produced in the Paju province have always been highly regarded for their taste and outstanding nutritional value and were even served to the king. Furthermore, in the early 20th Century, the 'Jangdan Soybeans’ were designated as the most superior soybeans in Korea and were distributed throughout the country.During the festival visitors can taste the soybeans and learn how to make dishes made from soybeans including tteok (rice cakes), tofu, and preserved soybeans.
