24 Martials Arts (Muye 24-gi in Korean) refers to the 24 martial art techniques in the Muyedobotongji (Comprehensive Illustrated Manual of Martial Arts). The manual was compiled in 1790 by Silhak (practical learning school of Confucianism) scholars Lee Deok-mu and Park Jae-ga, along with the martial art expert Baek Dong-su, under the orders of King Jeongjo (22nd ruler of the Joseon Dynasty). Regarded as a resource for understanding the nature of Korean military science, the manual is an exemplary martial arts compilation that was organized into 24 techniques by adopting the traditional martial arts of Joseon, as well as China and Japan. The 24 Martial Arts were practiced by the soldiers of the outer military unit of Jangyongyeong, the most elite military troop during the Joseon Dynasty. Soldiers stationed at the northern and southern military camps of Hwaseong Haenggung Palace practiced these techniques to effectively guard the palace. It is a considered as a significant intangible heritage because of its great historical, artistic, and athletic values. With the restoration of Hwaseong Haenggung Palace, a regular event is being held to demonstrate the 24 Martial Arts. The performance features 18 ground martial arts among the 24 techniques recorded in the Muyedobotongji. From every Tuesday to Sunday at 11:00, the 24 Martial Arts Trial Performance where eighteen martial arts will be performed as they fight on ground among twenty four martial arts written in Muyedobotongji (Korean Martial Art Book) at the Hwaseong Haenggung Palace.

The World Taekwondo Hanmadang is the global Taekwondo headquarters, and presents the true essence of Taekwondo's elements, including attacks, demonstrations, and self defense. Every year at the World Taekwondo Headquarters, an international Taekwondo competition is held in order to manifest the spirit of this martial art and to increase the unity of global Taekwondo martial artists. Since its first opening in 1992, the competition has become known as the world's leading authority for the tradition of Taekwondo. Through the World Taekwondo Hanmadang, participants can enhance the value of Taekwondo as a cultural consciousness, and also act as an instrument through which the superiority of Taekwondo's culture can be spread globally. In particular, it functions as an international Taekwondo instructional festival for those not well-versed in its practices, and through the tourism programs offered for international Taekwondo practitioners to visit the martial art's home country and headquarters, the event will serve as a commercializing opportunity to propel the spirit of Taekwondo further. With over 50 nations and over 5,000 attendees annually, in addition to the actual sparring events, through its display of poomsae, attacks, self defense, and Taekwondo gymnastics, it is making its mark as an international Taekwondo festival that highlights the elegant and sophisticated elements of this ancient martial art.

Dasan Cultural Festival will take place in the area of Dasan Heritage Site and Dasan Ecological Park in Namyangju-si. The festival has been held annually since 1986 in memory of the spirit of Dasan Jeong Yakyong, a scholar of the late Joseon Dynasty whose hometown was Namyangju-si. During the festival, various performances and hands-on programs will be prepared for visitors.

Korean Folk Village hosts the Good Luck Feast for Welcoming the New Year to celebrate the New Year in February. During this feast, various traditional events including daljip (bundle of twigs that is burned to bring good luck), jisin bapgi (prayer ritual involving singing and playing instruments), sharing tteok (rice cake), stamping bujeok (charms preventing bad lucks), reading Tojeongbigyeol (Korean traditional fortune-telling book) and Yutjeom (new year’s fortune-telling by throwing yut) are available as New Year’s event. Visitors can pound rice cake (tteok) and also try boktteok (복떡) made in the traditional way. Unique programs such as stamping bujeok and reading tojeongbigyeol will entertain visitors who wish to enjoy Korean traditional holidays. In celebration of Seollal (Korean Lunar New Year’s Day), Korean Folk Village plans to introduce a new character, ‘Bok jangsu’ (복(福)장수), followed by Eoggaegeoji, Yeotgeol, and Gumiho. The varied characters each have their own personality. ‘Bok (福) geoji’ likes begging, ‘Bok (福) gumiho’ loves hanbok (Korean traditional costume) and ‘Bok (福) pojol’ cares for folk games. These characters can be seen throughout the festival venue, sharing well-wishing remarks for the New Year. In addition, people can be selected as a winner of ‘Daebak (big luck) lottery’ which provides prizes when playing a simple game with ‘Bok (福) jangsu’. A mask dance performance will be prepared at the entrance of Korean Folk Village to greet the New Year. Other events include face-painting, and deokdam (well-wishing remarks) photo zone. On the day of Lunar New Year’s Day, performance events such as ‘Beauty of Traditional dance, Tradition of Flowers’ and ‘Gukak B-boy’ are planned. Furthermore, visitors who enter the folk village wearing hanbok and visitors born in the year of the sheep can receive a 50% discounted one day ticket. From May to October, the Suwon Cultural Foundation has opened the UNESCO World Heritage Suwon Hwaseong and Hwaseong Haenggung Palace to the public for a special nighttime program known as "Moonlight Tour at Suwon Hwaseong". Appreciate the beauty of a moonlight Suwon and Hwaseong and enjoy various programs such as exploring Haengggung Palace, reading poems with commentary and traditional performances, which are put in place to create a memorable experience for all visitors.

Goyang Street Arts Festival provides festivalgoers a chance to see various performances all in one place. From underwater dance at the lake to midair performances and fireworks show, there are plenty to see and enjoy at this street festival.

Everland Snow Festival is held throughout the winter season, offering a variety of winter activities and games perfect for family and friends. 

The "Busan Fireworks Festival" takes place every October along Gwangalli Beach. The festival’s diverse programs of cultural events, high-tech laser light shows, and myriad of unique and colorful fireworks make this one of the area’s most popular festivals, drawing crowds of over 1 million visitors each year. Though most people flock to the beach for a closer view of the festivities, nearby Hwangnyeongsan Mountain also offers a great view of the fireworks. 

This festival takes place at Busan’s beautiful Haeundae Beach, an extremely popular summer vacation spot. The festival’s program is full of events inspired by the beach’s beautiful white sand. One of the highlights of the festival is the hot sand bath (beneficial for health and beauty), where visitors are buried in the sand from head to toe. Other events include a beach volleyball competition, an exhibition of different types of sand from around the world, and a marathon race.The festival continues into the night with spectacular fireworks displays, concerts, and other entertainment events. Popular tourist destinations such as the Jagalchi Market, Gwangalli, and Taejongdae are all located nearby. Visitors can also stop by one of the many restaurants along the coast to sample the sushi for which Busan is famous. 

The Busan Sea Festival was first held in 1996. The festival takes place at Haeundae Beach, Gwangalli Beach, Songdo Beach, Dadaepo Beach, Songjeong Beach, and at other places in Busan. The festival offers various cultural events and unique hands-on programs. As Korea's first general ocean festival, it puts on many exciting programs including a great opening ceremony, cultural performances, and other special events. With a total of 6 beaches holding the event, each beach has different programs and performances for all ages.
