The Asan Great Admiral Yi Sun-Sin Festival celebrates one of Korea’s most famous war heroes, Yi Sun-Sin, who defeated the Japanese in a momentous naval battle around 460 years ago. The festival takes place in the period around the Admiral’s birth date on April 28 in order to commemorate his achievements. Events at the festival will include a reenactment of the parade when Yi Sun-Sin took his sailors off to war and displays featuring detailed reproductions of the famous turtle-shaped ships (Geobukseon, 'Turtle Ship'), which were used in the battle.

Introduced since 2006, the annual 'Seoul Drama Awards' is hosted to connect a variety of countries and encourage them to share their finest drama productions for all drama fans in the world to enjoy. By cultivating hallyu, Seoul tourism and developing a healthy national cultural festival, the festival ultimately hopes to promote and create a harmonious relation in the drama industry.  

Designed to promote Korean films, Daejong Film Festival is the oldest film award ceremony in Korea and the only film award program hosted by the government. The festival screens and honors many of the past year’s movies and provides a weeklong opportunity for the public to enjoy nominated selections free-of-charge. Each year’s winners are selected based on opinions of festival-goers and film experts. As the most prestigious industry award program in Korea, the Daejong Film Awards hundreds of Korean stars together in one place. The festival takes place every May in the area of Jungnang-gu where thousands of roses blossom to form a 5.15km-long rose tunnel. Performances and activity programs will be prepared to entertain visitors along with a magnificent finale of fireworks on the last day of the festival. Nighttime visitors are welcome to enjoy the sight of roses as well with their beauty maximized by a variety of lighting effects. The festival celebrates each day with diverse contents based on different themes and provides photo zones throughout the event venue for visitors.

Taean F Festival is a flower festival held annually in the Sinon-ri area in Nam-myeon. During the festival, various cultural events and flower markets are held against the backdrop of beautiful flowers. Taean F Festival holds a themed festival for each season: tulips in spring, lilies in summer, lights in winter, and autumn flowers in fall. During the lily festival in summer, the venue is covered with lilies in shades of white, yellow, plum and red. The lake in the middle of the venue will be decorated in the theme of “Byeoljubu” (traditional Korean story of the Turtle and the Rabbit). There will be rabbit village to the left, a tortoise village to the right, and a character village on the perimeter of the venue. Hands-on programs such as feeding animals, making cookies, making soap bubbles, and making masks and face painting are also available.

Healing Music Festival first began in 2008 with a theme of abundant and relaxing music meeting nature. This year, the festival will be held in Imjingak Pyeonghwa-Nuri Park. Around 20 domestic and overseas musicians who are noted for their healing music are invited. Along with the healing music stage, a “Healing Playground” featuring treatment of mind and body through artistic programs will be offered. Participants can heal their mind and body at this music festival.

The year 2013 marks the 18th anniversary of the Seoul Friendship Fair. This year’s festival will be attended by 300 performance teams from sister cities from over 14 different countries as well as teams from foreign embassies, tour agencies, and cultural centers from over 60 countries. A wide spectrum of unique culture events will be taking place, including traditional performances and sampling of cuisine from around the world. Other events include traditional costume shows and a traditional folk art exhibition.

This festival takes place at Busan’s beautiful Haeundae Beach, an extremely popular summer vacation spot. The festival’s program is full of events inspired by the beach’s beautiful white sand. One of the highlights of the festival is the hot sand bath (beneficial for health and beauty), where visitors are buried in the sand from head to toe. Other events include a beach volleyball competition, an exhibition of different types of sand from around the world, and a marathon race.The festival continues into the night with spectacular fireworks displays, concerts, and other entertainment events. Popular tourist destinations such as the Jagalchi Market, Gwangalli, and Taejongdae are all located nearby. Visitors can also stop by one of the many restaurants along the coast to sample the sushi for which Busan is famous. 

The first in Asia, started as the International Comedy Festival in 2013, it is now known as the Busan International Comedy Festival (BICF) and is noted for developing comedy cultural contents, introducing both Korean and famous international comedians from abroad.  Regardless of gender and ages, the comedy festival is open to anyone to enjoy and have fun laughing throughout the funny acts presented by the comedians. The audience also get to be actively involve with the artistes through the performances and programs presented at this globally diverse international comedy festival. In addition, a comedy open concert will also be hosted for free to allow all visitors to enjoy comedies of international level quality.
